After having an order placed for 3 months and only hearing horror stories and "clean and unscheduled" I started looking throughout the eastern half of the US for a car. I finally found almost the exact car I ordered down in New Orleans. Called the dealer, negotiated a price of $900 over MSRP, put down a deposit, flew down there Friday and spent 2 days driving it home.

Screaming Yellow GT Premium
Shaker 1000
5-speed
Anti-theft
17" optional wheels
IUP

I can finally sleep at night

Congratulations, your wait is finally over. Not so positive about paying over MSRP, but your choice. Enjoy your new ponyride!

Paying over sticker stinks, and I managed to not do it, but I can understand going this route when you stare at an order for over 2 months with no change in status.

What kind of dummy would buy a Screaming Yellow Mustang?
Youve got to be crazy!

Sorry for not posting pictures initially. I was worn out after that 1100 power trip. If someone could be kind enough to tell me how to post a picture on this forum I would be happy to thow one up. I really hated to pay over MSRP but my wife and I had been calling over the East Coast looking for a car like we wanted, we had it narrowed down to a few color/option combos, and was not having any luck. A dealer local to us had 2 silver ones on their lot. 1 was a silver Premium GT that they were asking $4000 over MSRP for. That came to about $33000. The other was a used silver Deluxe GT (had about 5000 miles on it) and they wanted $29500 for it. Yes, you read that right. They were marking up a used car $4000 also. In the week I have had my car I have discoverd that the hood needs to be adjusted, the gas tank needs to be replaced, the CD Changer needs to be replaced and the brakes squeak. But I still love this car.

Darth-Bob: I have wanted a yellow Mustang since I got rid of my black 94 Cobra. I think yellow is a very hot sports car color on just about any true performance car. But each to his own.
