After waiting and waiting for a GT order i made in OCTOBER.... i finally gave up on my mustang search....

I didnt really want a v6... something about being the bottom rung or something, lol. But wednesday we went out looking to see what was on the lot at our local dealer...

They only had 4 Mustangs there... all V6... but one was a convertible. ..a white convertible with parchment leather... loaded.

Now i didnt think i would much care for one (a convertible that is)... but we drove it with the top down... and i reached an epiphany(sp?)... The v6 is quite fast...compared to my 01... more power than i will ever really need or care for.. and there is just something special about driving around without a roof to hinder your view!!

but, the sticker was 28,700

...we went in to talk to the dealer.. (I knew they wouldnt budge from the price..) But, i was sooo wrong! The salesman is a pretty good friend of my dad, and we sat across and he looked at me...played with a calculator for a second... $500 over invoice... AND i get the student $500 discount... so i really got the car AT invoice!! Not to mention.,.. there was a couple behind us willing to pay sticker for it... and they still let me have it! Now THAT is cool!!

btw, this isn't the dealer i ordered the GT from.. so they didn't owe me any favors..

needless to say, i drove it home! WooHoo!

I'm still waiting for my GT. I haven't waited near as long as you but I want the GT. Keep in mind though I have my wifes V6 to drive while I am waiting.
You will not be disappointed with a V6, they are very under rated and get too much bashing on this site. Other than the GT this is the most powerful car that I have ever driven(other than my brother-inlaw's race car back in the early 80"s). I am very happy with it but, I can't wait to get my GT, hopefully within three weeks. :dance:

Congradulations on the vert. I would not feel bad at all about the V6. A vert is a cruser and that V6 will do you proud. I have been trying to talk the wife into getting a V6 vert ( so I can drive in on nice days )......

I think that V6 Vert is about the most funfor the dollar you can get in a new 05 car.....

btw, got it at Woody Anderson Ford in Huntsville, AL. Quite impressed.
