Is this a fair price for 07?
Is $16,250 a fair price for this 2007 Mustang V6?
Car looks ok to me, I'm planing to go and check it over the weekend.

Also, I checked brand new 2009 Mustang V6. Base model, 5-speed. MSRP is $22,000 and dealer said that there is about $1,000 in rebates so the price would be around $21,000. Is that only rebate available on 2009? $21,000 seems little too much for a base Mustang.
Thanks

I saw a brand new almost no option Brand new 2008 V6 on my local lot last month.
They were letting it go for $15000 after rebates.
Be careful. NEVER PAY MSRP!!!!!!
I think there should be a $3000 rebate in your area.
I kinda like this one in WI:
Nicely optioned and s/b @ $20,000 or less

I'll check out 09 again, this time we'll talk more about final price. There is no way I would ever pay MSRP or even an invoice for a base Mustang.

Before rebates, it is harder to get a below invoice price on a base model than a well optioned model.
The more options, the more money they make on both ends (because of something called holdback).
Invoice minus rebates is about what you should pay on a base model.
A well optioned model could be below invoice and the dealership would still make the same money on it.
And that's the way it is...

If I could get an 09 for maybe ~$19,000 I would buy it over 07 for $16,250.
I emailed owner of 07 and he said that I'm welcome to come and see a Mustang anytime I want.

I think 16K is way too high for a 2007 V6 Mustang. I traded in mine over Labor Day and the dealer offered me 10K for it and told me he couldn't do any better. Mine was a Redfire 2007 V6 w/ Pony Package, leather seats, anti-lock brakes, traction control, Shaker 500, side airbags, and I'd added a Hurst Shifter, and GT500 emergency brake.
Honestly, I thought he'd lowballed me on my trade, but then the dealer called me back a couple days ago to ask me if I'd ever received a second set of keys for it. Reason was that they'd sold it and the new owner wanted another set. I asked him (if he wouldn't mind telling me) how much he'd sold it for. He told me they got about $14K with tax! That means the sticker price was about $12,500 and they only made $2500 off the car.
Now, maybe they were lying to me about how much they sold it for, but I still think 16K is too high for a used 2007 V6.

Holdback on Ford products is 3% of the sticker. When a dealer sells a car, Ford pays them 3% of the sticker price, regardless of what you paid for the car. Holdback is the money that keeps the lights,AC/heat on at the dealership, so to speak.
However, just bring along a calculator and you will quickly know how much the dealer will make on the car before the negotiation even begins.
If you are not fond of negotiating, visit FightingChance.com and buy a packet from them for the car you are interested in. Not much money, and you'll make it back easily when you buy your car. I used them once, and it was a terrific experience.
