Are the factory seats comfortable?

I'd really like to purchase a 2008 GT, but I find the factory seats really uncomfortable. The bottom seat cushion foam is very thin and compresses too easy. With the fabric interior you can feel the springs in the seat frame in the bottom of the seat. The leather is slightly better, but I prefer fabric. Ford apapears to have taken the cheapest route with these seats. I realize you can install aftermarket seats, but in 2008s it will be more difficult with the side airbags becoming standard equipment.

I haven't read many complaints, but am wondering if others feel the same way?

I guess it depends on the driver's weight, but I don't have this problem. I have the red leather seats and I find them very comfortable.

If you pull the factory seats with or without air bags you are going to get an air bag light on the dash. I'm sure that there is a bypass for it if you do it. As far as comfort I have the leather seats and I'm 6'3 @ 285lbs and I am perfectly comfortable in them.

I've driven my car to shows that were as much as 4 hours away (PA to Budds Creek MD @ MIR), and the ride couldn't have been better! I'm 6 foot and 160 lbs, so there isn't alot of weight in the seat, but I never had a problem with comfort yet.

These are way more comfortable than the Sn95 seats were. Does it have the comfort of a BMW? No. But then it wouldn't be a Mustang.

what they said I like them. Did a 9 hr trip not to long ago and the dupa was fine after words. The part I don't like is the head rest. I think if I get rear ended my chin is going to be jamed into my chest. I am working on some sort of support/pillow that will fill that void...... hopefully with my wife's help. Either that or maybe bend the rods that hold the head rest at that screwed up angle.

I'm 5'10, about 190. We took the car on a road trip of about 3 hours and I thought it was very comfortable. Our other car is a Honda Pilot and I thought the seats in the Mustang were just as comfortable. I did notice that you could kind of feel a hard spot in the lower seat back but inflated the lumbar support and you could no longer feel it.

I recently did a 7 1/2 hour trek to Atlanta in my GT. I was fine on the way up until about the last hour or so. On the ride home, I could feel it about 1/2 way home. I don't think it was so much the seat as it was my seating position. And the lumbar support was great to have for a long trip.

I think they're the best seats ever in a Mustang. No complaints here.

My wife likes them much better than the SN-95 seats. I find them wider and therefore more comfortable. I have cloth seats in the '07 GT and leather in the '03 Mach.

Speaking of long trips in the Mustang, twice I drove 1000 miles in 16-17 hours each and the seats were great.

I have leather and I think they are great. It took a day or 2 to get them adjusted the way I like.

My wife and I think our seats (leather) in our '07 Mustang are very comfortable. We really like the power passenger seat for good visibility.

Have you considered using memory foam seat cushions? Something like this?

Good luck with your 2008 Mustang GT.

I think the Mustang seats are one of the most comfortable seats ive sat in. Every time someone gets in my car, they always say the same thing. "Wow, these seats are really comfortable"!!

Absolutely comfortable! Are there better? I'm sure there are but when I bought my Mustang I drove my baby home from Fort Lauderdale,Florida to Brooklyn, NY (1200+ mile trip & 20 hours) without any complaints at all.

I think the seats are ok, but not the "best seats ever in a Mustang". THAT honor IMHO goes to my 1989 Mustang. THOSE seats were adjustable to the nth degree. They had a slide out knee support, the adjustable side bolsters, power lumbar support, four way headrests (the BIG ones), and didn't get all screwed up every time someone got in the back.

Those seats were available from 1987 to 1989 only, then Ford cheaped out and in 1990 removed most of the features.

I've been VERY happy with the seats in my 05 with ICAP. I've taken several 6 1/2 hour trips in this car and always end up at my destination feeling pretty good. They are MUCH more comfortable than a lot of other vehicles I have driven or ridden in. But, there are better if you want to spend the money.

I've got the cloth seats and I find them very comfortable and my wife does too. In fact she complains when we drive our F150 that she misses the Mustang's seats.

I don't have that problem with mine... Can you feel a pea under 20 mattresses? That's a sign of true royalty...

I'm sure there are better seats in more expensive cars, but for the price class, the Mustang seats are pretty good.
