20s are just a waste of plastic... imo

i like the stock wheels

But I agree with the hood and cold air induction...

Definately go with an aftermarket...something with mufflers in a different location (preferably away from the criticizing eye) or go with bullet mufflers. Stock sounds nice but can use some big time improvement.

I was in Foxboro with Dustin & V10 and I believe the stock exhaust system is more than adequate......I HEARD IT IN PERSON! IT'S AWESOME!

side exhaust difficult due to layout of exhaust/mufflers

Just be careful if you remove the factory cats until the aftermarket gets caught up.

Since Ford is changing the PCM, most likely MIL eliminators won't work until we can tweak them, and you cannot install a chip on the new PCM, but will be able to reflash the PCM.

Plus, if I'm not mistaken, Ford is moving towards rear o2 sensor biasing, and it would be no fun to own a 2005 with the check engine lamp on all the time and the car running like poo...

As we know, up to 2004, Ford didn't utilize rear o2 sensor biasing, but like all the other manufacturers, most are moving in that direction where the rear o2 sensor will aid in engine control.

I'd stick with the mufflers until the aftermarket gets caught up.

I voted aftermarket. Although I do like the stock sound a lot after hearing it in person, I think I want it louder. Since the car already comes with 2.5" mandrel bent pipes and high flow cats, all you need to do is swap out the mufflers with something like Flowmaster American Thunders or something which will cost you around $100 total.

If the stock exhaust on the videos are any indication, then I see no rush to hemorage a ton of money on an aftermarket system. Also, by eye-balling the stock system, it looks like it will flow real well too, so probably little power advantage to an aftermarket system too.

But then, I've always liked to deep, smooth, sophisticated sound of Borlas...

I was thinking of chanigning those stock exhaust manifolds, and putting some long headers. By doing that I will probably also have to get a different exhaust system. I will stay stock no more than a year and a half.

I may at some point make my future V6 a dually instead of a boring single, to make it sound a little tougher. It's not very likely and not really necessary though.

First thing i'm swapping, the exhaust, then cold air, and i'm sure by reading how this thing breathes, we'll pick up 20 HP easily....

aftermarket

the drx pipe will replace the h.
it seams to close to the drivshaft imo
Remember that the front section of the driveshaft is fixed. It does NOT move up and down with the suspension.

I'm thinking sort of the same thing, cut the H out and weld in a real tangential X (maybe parts from Dr Gas). That will probably give a quick 5 - 8 HP & lb. ft. and will really make it sing at higher RPMs.

Will have to hear how the X sounds before I decide if the mufflers need replacing too. In any case I'll paint them flat black with Rustoleum flat black BBQ paint.

I will not bother going to bigger pipes as they won't do all that much.

The new exhaust manifolds look like they will flow as good if not better than shorties, so nothing to do there either.

I like it a lot indeed, to top it all off, i've installed Dynomax Race magnum ( or formaly known as Ultra flow welded mufflers out back, it gives it this distintive sound that nobody else has around here....But the smell is awfull without cats. I know i'm illegal but what a sound difference it makes though, not too loud but just the right amount, you know it's a 5.0, i've had my girlfriend drive it around the block the other day just to see what it sounds like when you're not sitting in it, i was really impressed by it. Made me proud, but that's another story.....

All I can say is if the mandrel bent pipes are true, this will be a MUCH cheaper mod.

2.5" is a perfect size. Swap in a pair of mufflers and that's it.

I want to see how she sounds. I have a feeling it will sound like it has a Borla already on her. Then I'll make a decision.

18's will come first for sure though.
