How much does the dealer actually make on a Xplaned GT?
I'm not sure John. They still get their holdback, but you're right--they aren't getting whatever profit they'd make if I bought the car at MSRP. I was just happy they honored X-Plan on a GT!

Kzinti has been an awful lot of help. I just don't understand why Ford doesn't have a website to do this. I guess the everyday car purchaser doesn't care about every step of the manufacturing process, let alone the shipping process (I was never this worried about the order process when I ordered the F150), but the Mustang is a legend, and true automobile enthusiasts are the ones ordering these cars!

These aren't the folks that just drive the car to work and home, but men and women how lovingly wash, wax, and upgrade their pride and joy and keep it looking great. To them it's not just a car; it's their own piece of a legend! :worship: :worship: :worship:

Steve, your 18" bullitts might possibly be the holdup.

John, it is my understanding that Ford reimburses the dealer over and above holdback on plan purchases, but I do not know the specifics. It isn't as much as they can make at sticker, or we'd all be happily planning away!

If a customer walks in off the street and the salesman has to do no selling then isn't that easy money for them anyway??

They didn't have to sell me, that's for sure! Knew what I wanted, and worked the deal from there.
