I have been doing everything possible to make sure my new 06 mustang gets built in a reasonable time frame, unlike that of my 05. Anyway I spoke with a head engineer in the mustang program, and told him of my concerns, and then we started talking about what I had on order, and up came news of the 64w polished 18" wheels. He said they are on hold and wont start being built until november, and in very limited quantities to start. So anyone with that on there order, you can pretty much guarantee they wont even start on vehicles with them until november some time. He said if you are one of the lucky ones to get built with them, that it is well worth the wait and sets off the car a lot better than the fanblades in his opinion. He said he like the way polished aluminum turns out. Very unique. Anyway so the story goes pretty much the same as when I ordered my 05. It's going to be a while in my estimation. Anyway thought a few of you with the 18's might want to know. Good luck to all that have ordered them, as we will need any luck we can get. Later.

Well after all the news on cars being built with the 18 polished rims, after two weeks my car has been serialized, and a day later now has a build date of november 7th. Man I am getting excited. Hope all get theres quickly. I guess someone is looking over me on this 06 order.

I ordered 64Ws - according to my salesperson 9/21 was the first day they were allowed to truly place an order with that code...no idea if this is really true or not. In any case ERL says mine is getting built week of 11/07...sure hope so!

Mine has been already sequenced, blended, and was supposed to be built today, 10/18. I have the 64W Bullitt wheel option.
Looking forward to a build today .....

Good luck with build today. As I said I spoke with a top engineer there, saying that you can be serialized, build date etc, but those items are on hold, and as he stated they would not start building with that option till november. But for your sake I hope he is wrong.

well that is great news, as I have those wheels on order as well. Hopefully they can keep building with them for a while. I dont understand why he would tell me that. But I spoke with him on wednesday and he did say they would be worth the wait but in very limited supply. So consider yourself lucky I guess. Glad to hear there getting some out.

Well how long from being serialized till built date, it seems about a month is the going rate. I just got serialized today after ordering two weeks ago. I hope this is a good sign. Thanks for any replies.

I believe there is a vin once car has been serialized, I was under the impression thats what they mean when serialized, they have developed the vin for the vehicle to be built. At least thats what I thought. good luck

car to be built november 7th as of erl today. I am getting excited. Two weeks ago ordered car, it looks as car will be built one month after order. which should get me the car within 6 weeks, man oh man, I cant wait.
