I have the late 06 liner and it is rubbing. I think the back of the cover can be lowered by doing the mod where you lift the cover, remove the fuel rail studs, and use those to hold the cover down.

Why not just remove the cover?

You could just cut a hole in the hood so it doesn't touch.

Maybe that's why they decided not to use it when the '05 came out.

+1 My cover is wearing as well - looks like the hood liner sags in the back area as there is no fastener in the back to hold it tight to the hood. I will try the cloth tonight.

Sorry I was incorrect about the cut out.

The liner in the pic above (my first port) was orig from factory when I got it.

This one they said was from Ford as I told them no after market.

I like mine better I am going to use some double sided tape to hold the liner up in place in the back there where its sagging

The cloth stays put. I'm on 5th day now and it does not move when driving

Washcloth idea working here too.
If you feel the liner, there is a 'stiffner' moulded on the underside of the hood also, kinda presses against the Ford intake cover, not sure if there is an easy fix, like duct tape or anything.I'll probably keep the cloth there, hopefully this will keep it from wearing anymore.
