Here's all you need to know:
Looks like they tested a yellow GT...
Here's all you need to know:
The handling and steering feel are so impressive, in fact, that several road test editors that drove the car back-to-back with the new '05 Corvette felt that while the 'Vette is a bit faster in terms of actual performance numbers, the Mustang is actually more fun to drive.

Yeah, they really seemed to love it. As one of the editors said, "This is the car we always knew Ford could build."
Raves were about what might be expected: styling, power, steering and handling and especially the exhaust note. Some less than expected for a Stang raves were the overall quite when cruising and perhaps the negative impact on the price of original 35 year old muscle cars when you have this.
Some rants were: didn't feel as fast as they thought, some hard interior plastics and the "hey, look at me, I'm 16 again" spoiler," which also seemed to be the sole source for wind noise.
But again, overall, a very positive write up.

"Forget import cars with big exhaust tips and overpriced sports cars with tiny high-revving engines. The muscle car is back, and the golden age of performance is right now."
What else is there to say?

Great review. I am extremely happy to hear about the clutch being a non-issue in Los Angeles traffic. I was considering getting an auto since it will be a daily driver in either CA or NJ traffic... But this seals it. Stick for me.
I especially like the "second opinion page" which states the following:
Road Test Editor Brian Moody says:
"...I drove the new 2005 Corvette the same day I drove the Mustang and I like the Mustang much better. ..."

All I can say is, "Where's Branch?" I guess the Mustang is doomed if it keeps getting reviews like this, yea, doomed to be a sales success, an icon of the modern era, and a car to be feared and revered for years to come!!

Well that should help it when Car & Drivers does a comparison. The tie breaker always seems to be the "Fun to Drive" factor. B)

- GTO
- G35C
- RX8
- ??? what am I missing?
...and those are all considerably more expensive, or have significantly less power. If sales are as strong as I think they'll be, it's going to be very interesting to see how other manufacturers respond.

The only thing that shocked me about the article was the 0-60 times... they were saying high 5 second range..... doesn't that seem a little high????

[QUOTE] If you don't like getting stared at, don't drive this car…it gets more attention than Lady Godiva riding bareback down Fifth Avenue.
My favorite part of the read. It made me laugh out loud but it it so true
