Driveshaft bracket has broken

Hello everyone and thanks for reading and giving me any helpful info.

This is for a 2007 mustang GT 5speed manual 4.6L v8 with 90k miles.

so long story short. I was driving home from work and I hit a really bad pothole on the expressway. It sounded like something really loud hit under my car. When I got off my exit it sounded like and felt like there was a basketball dribbling under my ebrake lever. And when I would take off and drive it would stop, until I hit brakes or slowed down and again this obnoxious sound by my ebrake lever returned. After getting home and jacking car up, I was able to find the problem. The driveshaft bracket that holds the driveshaft up is missing a bolt on one side and is dangling and on other side it looks to be messed up longer and it’s bolt is there but the bracket is bent and broken on both sides of that bolt that is suppose to hold it secure to the car. I will post pictures to show but it was very difficult to get pics and probably even more difficult for you all to understand what I’m meaning. My question is…how can I just buy and replace that bracket and bolt. I can only find the safety loop system for the driveshaft, which is not the same but as far as I know it can be used along with this broken bracket… I have searched the internet high and low and am unable to find just that part! Please anyone that can help I will be forever thankful for!! Thanks in advance and for anyone who suffered through this reading. : /

HERE YOU GO!

BE ADVISED I LOOKED UP PARTS WITHOUT VIN. SOME WOULD NEED TO BE DOUBLE CHECKED WITH VIN!

https://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-...ft-0510gt.html

How to Install!

This replacement Driveshaft will Eliminate That Carrier Bearing & Bracket.

I know it's a Hard Hit. Please Read all about it!

The Front Section From Ford Is More Than a one Piece. I would Bet Carrier Bearing is Bad in Yours!

Also You Might Check Locally for a Driveshaft Repair Company.

Ok, Looking At the Driveshaft From What I Can See and You Say You Hit a Pothole. It Is Possible You Simply Broke the Center carrier Bearing Retainer and One Of the Bolts. If and I Mean If the Carrier Bearing is Good You May get Away with Drilling Out and Extracting Broken Bolt.

Finding a Used Bracket & Attaching Bolts And Reinstalling I don't Know If The Repair Can Be Done With Driveshaft Still Installed or Not. So If Everything is Ok Less Bracket & Bolts This Would be The Cheapest Way to go.

Update
Looking at the Pics Of the Strap is Does Not Look Very Promising I think is a 2 Piece That is Spot Welded Together. Understandable as if It came Off Results Would Not Be Good! So Now Looks More Complicated Still Looking at Options.

Btw, Great Pics and Explanation and Also Including enough Information to Figure Out. Believe Me We Get Minimal Info Many Times When Folks are Looking For Help. Kudo's to You.

Ok, So Local Driveshaft Shop or Wrecking Yard May Have What you need. Also with So many Going the One Piece Route Maybe Somebody Out there Has Some Parts Laying Around! Hint Hint!

I have Posted Two How To's & a Ford Shop Manual PDF to Help Whoever Tackles This.

Here Are Kentucky LKQ Listings I would Call & Verify They are Selling you Both Pieces of A Two Piece Driveline!

I would Guess They are Already Pulled But If Not You Could Ask for Bolts.

Seems Too Cheap! Pick Lowest Mileage You Can Find

Kc

I believe these are the Bolts.
Shows to be 10x30mm. Since they Would Charge you Shipping I Would
Go To Local Ford Dealer and Ask For Driveshaft Carrier Bolts.
And Carrier Spacer. They Will Likely Sell you a Pkg of 4 If they Do Not Stock them!
You At Least Need 2 Bolts & 1 Spacer

Ford -W506434-S439

Bolt

Ford -W710432-S300

Spacer

Spacer

https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts...xle_drive,,HW1

You Need HB1 & HW1 As Shown Here.

That's My Best Shot. You Can Call Local Wrecking Yards. LKQ is a Hard Price to Beat. All Lkq is are Wrecking Yards That List their Items in a Collective Database! Still Gonna Have to Drill Out Bolt Unless it Just Fell out. I doubt it!

The Lowest Price New is Just Under $500.00 At Rock Auto. With That One No Carrier Bolts or Bolt Extraction.

Ford Likes to Replace Bolts on Any R&R but if Bolts Are in Good Shape & Cleaned & Use LokTite you should be Ok! Speaking of Front & Rear of Driveshaft Bolts!

Any Questions??
