Invoice price: What's it really worth?

It's easy to find out what the dealer paid for a car. But that might not be what the dealer paid.

I linked off that article to the Kelly Blue book site. kbb.com and it was much cooler than I remember it. Easier to get around in. B)

very useful information in the article. the original "cat out of the bag" article was done by road and track magazine back in the mid 80's before the advent of edmunds and kbb...they went into the holdbacks and sales incentives as well as the invoice pricing. back then, the article was THE bible for new car buying, especially the holdback part...remember, this was before the slew of manf to consumer rebates, so an informed customer was the only way to get the truly rock bottom price. i do find it interesting that nowadays, very little is known by most car buyers regarding the holdbacks for each manf. jackg 90seville 95k
