Do you not understand that Brad OWNS THIS SITE?

He's not just some random member using Paypal so people can see a video.

But something to think about, this is only a teaser and I guess costs $15, when a movie ticket is cheaper, and the quality is better (movie screen and THX).
The $15 is not an admission. It is a donation made to the site to help keep it running. If you ask me, $15 for the best source of 2005 Mustang info is a good investment for any future 2005-or-up Mustang owner.

I have not donated yet, but it is only because my credit card is maxed out as it is. I'll probably send my donation in a few weeks.

There's nothing wrong with voicing your opinion. But, when you voice your opinion in a public forum, make sure you don't sound ignorant. If Brad ends up making money from the donations, more power to him. He's what... 24 or 25 years old? For him to put so much effort into this operation says a lot about his character. He's obviously a fun-loving guy and just wants this hobby to continue uninterrupted.

On a serious note, and I want people to understand this... This namecalling and dissent of sorts leads to strife. I was once a part of an online forum larger than this. It, too, was an independent operation completely operated by one man. He made no money whatsoever from the site, and paid for everything out of his own pocket. He said it was his healthy alternative to smoking. It was a little costly, but he enjoyed doing it. Once the cost got to be a burden, he began asking for donations just like Brad. Members received a special-colored icon next to his/her name with a donation. Some members, like the ones here, found this to be an outrage, and within a few months, several dozen members split and created their own site under the name of the club that was founded in the first site. Many followed, and now both sites are lacking what the original had: UNITY.

That is my favorite aspect of this site. It's not the info, nor the layout, nor the good means to pass time that keeps me posting.

IT'S THE UNITY. A good term to describe this site as it is today would be bi-partisan. I hope it doesn't get as nasty as politics, however.

We just need to remember that without Brad, this site would not exist. Without Brad, most would rely on stangnet or other inferior websites for camaraderie and information. And realize that a donation is a donation. Do you see a tithe in church as admission? No, it's voluntary and is a personal conviction. Those who don't want to pay a dime toward the site can still come here and get the same info and pics and vids as before. But, until Brad can afford it, he needs to get more donations. Once that happens, you can see your 15-second video for free.

not trying to be mean, but did you read this thread? It's not about paying to see the video at all. the video by itself is certainly not worth $15, it'll be on TV in a few weeks. The video is sort of a 'thank you' to those who do help out, not the reason they help out. What is happening here is a close community of friends is coming together to support the one thing that brought us together in the first place. As many people have said, this site isn't free, or even cheap for that matter. No one should expect Brad to foot the whole bill himself. That's absurd.

Yeah, he could cover this board in ads or sell Merchandise(the latter being a great idea), but if this gets the job done, then that's great. And I'm sure the fee is only a small pittance for the enjoyment, knowledge and potential savings(info on X-plan, good dealers to go to, etc.) that the regulars on this site gain.

Brad gets bananas now for all his awesome work. :b anana:

rock on, Brad.

For some reason, that quote doesn't seem too genuine coming from you, "W"...

I am ok with the donation. I think that all the info provided here has definetley saved me more than $15 on my car purchase. I have learned so much info on this site that I am able to talk to the dealer with knowledge of what happens on his side.

I also know what it is like to work on things that take me away from my family. I have started a small photography buisiness that takes a lot of time away from my wife. I am sure Brad spends way to much time on here. That takes him away from his wife. This is all a sacrafice to provide you with this site.

Like other people say, he is not demanding that you pay anything. So, if you don't want to pay, you don't have too.

Please read what Brad has said. People have donated money to help send him to Detroit, and for the migration to a dedicated server (which is not cheap!) . What Brad did, was offer up a 'thank you' to those that did, nothing more, nothing less.

Edit: DETnews has an article on the commercial.

Boy Brad, you sure are taking a beating in this topic. Anyway, are you trying to get enough money to put a server together? Let me know. I own a computer retail business and I would be more than happy to donate a few parts to the cause. This is an excellent site and I have learned a lot about the new mustang, as well as how to get the best deal on the new one.

For those complaining about the fee, just don't pay it. Don't sit here and complain about "Oh, I have put so much input into this site and now he hits me up for some cash". Sure you may have put some comments in but just think about all of the knowledge you got for free! Personally I think $15.00 is worth is especially when you consider the amount of money you will save at the dealer when you approach them with the price list from the site.

Don't even compare this site to BON! I know someone did and they need a good

Once again Brad, awesome site and hopefully you will get that new server so we can continue to trade facts, bust myths and truly enjoy what matters most....The 2005 Mustang

I'm not trying to build a server myself. My web host, Web Host Digital, co-owned by Sendero, is doing all that for me.

I could not possibly share the video with all of you at this point; if all 3000 members downloaded it multiple times and posted the link on the other forums they frequent, the site would crash because of the bandwidth drain.

I think $15 is more than worth it for a one-stop information on what I expect will be my next car. In other words, $15 to quickly and easily gather information for the replacement of my second most expensive asset. I have absolutely no problem with that. Just try to find this caliber of comprehiensive, unbiased (for the most part), reliable information on any other site about any car.

For me, $15 is a very reasonable amount to donate. Personally I've been on this site for well over a year. The site has provided me with news, pics, videos and information on the '05 Stang, along with a great deal of entertainment and camaraderie. As someone else mentioned, the annual donation is about the same price of a yearly magazine subscription, with 10x more content.

Brad is certainly not demanding $15 from anyone. If my $15 (along with anyone else who has donated) helps lead to this site's continued existense into the future, then it is money well spent in my book. Even if Brad were to profit from the donations, more power to him. He's not asking for a lot, and given the amount of work he must put into this site, it would be well deserved.

Keep up the good work Brad.

You said it MR-MSTNG ... if you guys saw the stats I just saw on how much bandwidth this site uses to give us our daily Mustang fix and keep the information flowing you'd understand why people need to kick in a few bucks. Just think about how many "lurkers" there are consuming bandwidth besides all of us registered users.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Happy to be a new Stallion member.

For $1.25 a month, one day's cup of coffee and local newspaper($15/yr)? Yet people complain...This site is well worth every penny!

Thank you Brad and everyone who has supplied me (and many others) with great info. and a reliable place to get it at! Keep up the great work. EVERYONE!

This coming from somebody with a video game image for an avatar.

And, yes, autothing, we do get the occasional idiot in here who likes to break up the fun with stupid comments and ignorant viewpoints (such as completely made-up quotes in signatures). That's when I, "W" as you say, break from unity and put people in their place.
