I just finalized my order today (see sig), and I am just wondering about how long does it take to get a VIN? Also what is the DORA i keep reading about and when should I get that?

I know it's gonna be forever until I get the car, but I'm just trying to have some sort of idea. This is the 3rd car I have ordered and waited for so I know how agonizing that is. I can only hope this time wont be as bad as the last 2. My T/A took almost 6 months- such a terrible experience that it almost swayed me from ordering this time around.

 

The DORA is the Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement.
You should get it the day after you order. It's just Ford telling the dealer they got his order. It doesn't mean they'll do anything with the order just that they got it.
The VIN can take as little as a week or as long as a couple of months.
I ordered 11/8 and no VIN.
