Hi Everyone. Has anyone removed the Door Panels in this car yet? I need the dealer to replace the passenger window because of the scratching from the crap window seals. But I am worried. I used to have a 94 Probe. The door panels were extremely fragile. If they were not handled properly they would turn to total crap. They also used the stupid plastic push things that are like a one time use only deal. After having some repair done on the door panel in that car they were never the same. Sometimes they would just fall right oooff the door!

I know the dealer will have to remove the panel to fix the window. I was looking at the panels and they seem very similar to the Probe I used to have. I just do not want these clowns jacking up my car and I am seriously considering just living with the window scratches to avoid the hassle of the Dealership. I may just remove the panels myself and take the car to them to do the window only.

Do these panels come off rather easily? Do they use the plastic push pin things? Is there a large peice of plastic in between the panel and the frame of the door?

There are some other posts about the same subject. A few people have removed them, and someone posted a document with instructions on how to do it.

Just tell them to replace the plastic grommets. They usually slide into the door in a pocket and press into the hole on the sheet metal. They will cost the dealer a whole $2 to replace. Tell them to stop being cheap and do their part to keep the Chinese economy going and replace those for ya
