Does Your Mustang Leak ???

I have closely been following a couple threads on other forums that discuss the accumulation of water under the carpet pad on 05/06/07 Mustangs. I am curious to know if any of the members here have the problem?

The suggested way to check is to pop the plastic access door in the passenger foot well, and then reach down under the pad. Some think it has to do with a cowl rubber gromet (on the passenger side) that surrounds wiring coming from the engine compartment into the cabin.

Anybody have the problem? [Does the vehicle have a musty ordor?] Had it fixed? Or know why for sure?

My 07 is not a daily driver and has never seen rain; but I would like to understand this better anyway. Thanks.

Nope, no musty smells or obvious carpet wetness. Have window condensation on cold days, but clears up quick w/normal defroster settings.

The 06 apparently leaks. Has not been fixed yet.
Mine does not.

Yeah mine did but now it is fixed, the leak(s) caused the smart junction box to go out and have to be repalced. after the box was replaced the dealership took her to the "Water Dr." and he sealed 6 spots that may have contributed to the problem

Heres another one. The hole for the Shaker sub wire hole behind taillamp with a tape cover. Mine is dry.

I have owned my '06 GT coupe since mid-August.
The build date, I believe, is March '06.
I have driven in rain a few times, as recent as Friday, and have
had no wetness on the passenger side floor.
However, I have read some posts that suggest taking off the panel
on the passenger side and feeling for water/moisture down inside.
I have not done that yet.

My 06 built in December 05 seems to leak only when driving through heavy rain as in hitting standing water.

With the car just sitting outside during an extended downpour, no leaks.

Driving though a heavy rain where I know I hit some big puddles, I did find water on the passenger side floor. I made sure to dry it out by vacuuming it up and then blowing the heater on the floor for a while but I have not looked for the source yet. I have just avoided puddles since then.

But this sounds like I might have a few places to look when I put the car up for the winter...
