I'm not getting the shaker 500 or 1000, why waste money on it when I'm going to put in an aftermarket one eventually?

But will the base model CD player play burnt CD-R's? I plan on having a bunch of songs that gets me pumped up when driving put on a CD-R so when I take delivery I can pop it in and take off

I play CD-R's in mine all the time with no problems.

I mostly only play burnt CD's no problem. I had the Shaker 500 feature so the radio would get louder as I put down the gas pedal. I need to turn that thing off now.

yep- just not mp3 format(although I never actually tried an mp3 yet...hmm).

BTW, the standard radio has speed volume too...not just the shakers.

A couple suggestions for that first ride...
Dave Gilmour- on an island(from bestbuy- gets bonus disc) bonus disc'Island Jam' instrumental- very cool
Staind Chapter V box set/special edition- bonus track 'let it out' is great...
those two are kinda mellow, but great tunes.
First one when I FINALLY picked mine up (2nd time around) was Staind 'right here' from chapter V. 14shades of grey is a awesome album too, just wish theyd clean up their lyrics a bit so as to be kid friendly- which its not.
in all honesty, I give ya about 5 minutes till ya shut the radio off to hear the music eminating from under the hood...it REALLY rocks

just keep pushing the mode or whatever the round button is on the right...it will come up- like 6th/7th thing. set to zero to disable. actually setting about 3 works pretty good.

Nope don't need them.
But seriously, the base Ford radios have played cd-r discs for years now.

I rarely listen to the radio anymore, especially in the stang, the exhaust is all the music I need to hear. Sounds so sexy
