Does anyone have any hidden/unique markings from the factory?

Since the first time I had my car up on a lift almost 3 years ago, I noticed something rather unique drawn onto the bottom of my oil pan. Someone from either the assembly or the engine plant drew a heart on it!
Does anyone else have anything similar? I dont know why I am bringing this up now after 3 years, but hey I am bored. lol.

The truck (2003 FX4) has something drawn in yellow on the oil pan, but I never paid much attention to it.

Inscribed in yellow grease pencil above my axlebacks was the inscription, "...abandon hope all ye who enter here."

(Just kidding, I wanted to make this thread interesting)

These are inspections marks. Marks like these are done with wax pencils or paint markers.

They usually indicate that the item was installed, installed correctly, installed using the latest part, etc. Sometimes they get fancy with the marks because they may already have a line, dot, circle with dot, etc.

Or they may have been using a particular symbol, but the part changed, so now they need a way to indicate it's the newest revision being installed. So to avoid confusion with other inspection marks, they come up with something crafty like a heart.

Take a look your engine bay, you'll see them everywhere, in many colors.

I too have the heart on the oilpan. When I find these marks, I remove them with some Goo Gone.

Between my engine and intake manifold is says "john 10/11/05". Saw it when I installed my delete plates.

At least that's a sign of creativity and/or pride in their work - which is a good thing.
