:bang: Ive read about the gas tank issue. Ive had my car for over 2 months and never had a problem til tonight. It took me 20 minutes to pump 13 gallons in my car. It almost splashed out, and it wouldnt keep pumping. I had to pump it at super slow-mo speeds. I dont even know if i filled my tank, I just stopped at 14 gallons. Is this a sign of the problem? or would this just be a one time incident? Any opinions would be great.

sounds like your gas tank has "the problem"....so does mine, but it doesn't happen all the time, in fact, the past several fill ups have been problem free for me. If it keeps happening you should take it to the dealer and get the gas tank replaced. Good Luck!

I had the problem 2 times in 6 months, when it happened, I just turned the nozzle upside down, no more problem.

Mine also did it the other night! :notnice:
It was only the third time that I fill the car, the first two were fine.
My car was built April 25th, I would have thought that I would already have had the corrected tank?

Mine did it a few times when I first bought the car, but I have not had it do it in several months. I thought maybe it was the cooler weather causing it, but maybe not.

Yah, I thought mine would have the corrected tank since it was built after the problem one! I will try the upside down thing though

Its definitely dependent on the type of pump your using. It only happens to me at certain gas stations and I just turn the nozzle upside down and it works there too, although people look at you like your insane haha

If it happened at the same station/type pump, may be a problem. Had the car since early February and it happened once at an old station with old pumps.

I've filled up only about 5 times since I got the car. It was built 4/2/05. The first time I had no problem at all, the second time was heck (at two different stations) and the 3rd, 4th and 5th times (also at one of the problem stations) have been no problem. I've been trying to find out if there's a way to tell on the outside if you have a 'new tank' or the 'old tank' but so far I don't know.

It's a definite PITA. I get around it by checking the Message Center before I fill it, to see how much gas I used since the last fill. And then I pump it at about half speed. It usually shuts off at least once at about 1/4 full, but will then usually keep pumping until it's full. I've learned not to try and top it off, because the first time I did that, gas was flowing down the side of the car and onto the ground. :notnice:

But 20 minutes to fill it?! That sounds like a bit much! I'd be pretty ticked if I had to wait 20 minutes for the person in line in front of me to pump their gas. Get the replacement tank pronto if it really takes that long to fill the one you have!
