I am new to this forum, so I am not sure if this has been discussed. I have a 2005 GT on order. If the car does not get produced this summer before 2006 production starts, will Ford convert all of the outstanding 2005 orders to 2006 models and place them at the top of the 2006 order queue, or do I have to place a new 2006 order?

I was told by my dealership that this would happen, but they seemed unsure.

I would certainly hope that Ford would do this, it makes the most sense from a customer relationship stand point.

If this does happen, hopefully we will have a chance to modify our order to take advantage of the new 2006 features.

Thanks,

Ford does NOT convert any orders from one model year to the next. In some cases such as fleet and Govt orders than can not be built but were ordered under all the guidelines, Ford will "price protect" but the dealer still has to re-order the vehicles. On strictly retail orders, there is no price protection and the dealer has to re-order.

My nearby dealer said all of his 05 Mustang orders were rolled over to be 06 models. He said you do not have to reorder and could keep your place in line.
