Off from the MSRP or dealer price?

I smell some kind of "catch" here....maybe some "special" financing rate or dealer installed (pricey)options. Or can it be that most people are looking to buy the GT???
All the dealers in my area are expecting quite a few V6's for stock.

My dealer has had a v6 plain janer on his lot since my GT came in a month ago. He says the same thing, that people all come in, look at it, but want a GT or at least see a GT to compare, maybe? So much for the 75/25 V6/v8 buyer ratio. Personally I like the V6 but I don't really care for the plain interior. I do like the stock wheels on the 6 and with a few mods it could be a real runner/looker at about 5 grand less. Anybody interested in the car it's at Park Ford in Tallmadge, Ohio, near Akron. Tell them Harleybill sent you and maybe they will cut you a good deal.

It's off MSRP. I don't see any funky catches. In any event, interesting to see advertised discounts already, even if you could have likely bargained them down that amount. I wonder what we will be seeing in 6-8 months on GTs? I'd love a silver GT, but I am going back and forth between that and a new 05 toyota tacoma double cab 4x4. Totally different vehicles I know, but I want both, and I can only afford one...decisions.

3 v6's showed up at the dealer in my town 4 weeks ago and they are still there. I talked to one of the sales guys and everyone that walks in orders a GT after seeing it in the brochure. Guess the v6's will hang around for a while.

Again, I must wonder... Why not make them all V8s, and drop the price of the GT down to, what, 22-22.5? That'd make everyone happy, and ALL Mustangs would sell!
Would that be THAT terrible? And make ya pay extra for them 17s, let us have our 16 spinners! And extra for the fog lamps. Like IUP for the outside.
Oh, sure, getting a V6 versus V8 makes a difference in insurance, but, lemme see here, what if there weren't V6s? Would insurance then "level out" in a similar median style of the price?
Just a thought, yo. Oh, and before Grantsdale has a hissy, I admit, I started a similar topic months ago. No, I'm not lookin' it up, *I* remember it. And I love my v6 bretheren, I'm just sayin'.
/just messin' w'ya Grants!

I think the V6 to GT ratio will go back to normal, after all the initial hoopla dies down. Lets face it; The guys buying new mustangs right now are either enthusiasts like us, who of course, want the GT, or people with lots of extra money, that bought the GT because its a cool new car, and they can.
Of course, there will be those enthusiasts, who buy the v6, for the price, or insurance who may be buying right a way(My first mustang was a 6. Thats what got me hooked, and onto bigger and better things)
However, I think the average "I think I might want a mustang" type isn't rushing to the dealer going to buy her V6 right away.
