This is probably a stupid question, but i've been looking at these 06 pics and the only difference i can really tell between the 05's and 06's is that the v6 w/ pony package gets the new different grille with smaller foglights while the gt still looks the same as the 05... yay? nay?

 

Kinda sorta. Go check out the 2006 timeline here. Besides the new V6 Pony, there are 2 new colors and 18 inch wheels for the GT.

Thanks so much- i've sorta gone away from the mustang sites- cuz its too painful to keep wishing for something i know i cant have yet, but i'll be able to get one soon and i'm thinking i'll get a used 05 gt.... and swap the front grill with the 06 v6 pony package one... i think it makes the car look more sharp.... thanks for the info

 

My understanding is that the V6 and GT grilles are different sizes, so you wouldn't just be able to swap a pony package grille onto a V6.

Someone with more info may be able to confirm for sure.

Why would you want to swap an 05 GT grille with a V6 pony package one??? For the price you would pay for a used 05 GT you could probably by an 06 with the pony package. I know here in Canada the GT"s are about 10 grand more.
