Has anyone gotten their Mustang with the base stereo? I want to get a GT Deluxe, and wonder what the interior trim panel on the doors looks like. I'm getting the red leather interior, so the only difference between the premium and deluxe will be the stereo. If anyone has a pic of the door panel without the subwoofer please post. Thanks!
The only op I ordered was the IUP.I am leaving the high power stereo to the living room. When I was younger I used to put in the top of the line sound in my cars but now I can deal with a good cd player and tuner no need to blow the doors off anymore.I like the sound of the Shaker and all but I want the GT and I'm a cheapskate. As long as it's fast and a Mustang I'm happy. well for people like me (18 when the car willm be mine) i havent ever owend a car like this. i havent owened a car with an awesome stereo system. or a CD player!! OR LEATHER!! but the car is getting me around till i buy my baby. and im gonna make sure shes got everything i need. shaker 500 for me because i dont need the street thumping. the system in my moms excursion is sweet and i guarentee the shaker is better which would have me off the wall with excitement cuz i love the system in the excursion!!
I feel the same way. The Mach 460 in my '03 is plenty for me. Musch louder and better sounding than any stock stereo I've ever had.
It would be nice to have more, but not for $1300 more.
BTW, I'm going with the deluxe and adding the 500 to avoid the leather seats.

GT Deluxe w/leather, but I'm saving my money for a small aftermarket system that should sound better than the Shaker1000 for a lot less. So far I'm looking at spending $900-1100 for everything minus a 6-disc changer which I definitely don't need.
This discussion has already been hashed out about shaker vs. aftermarket. I'm of the same opinion as alot of the others. I don't want to be bothered tearing into my new car after it gets here just to install a stereo. This'll be hands down the most powerful car I've owned for engine, stereo, leather etc. I got all the options other than no upgraded wheels and no auto tranny.
I think the stock sound is good but I also was around when the stock systems were a joke. The one's that are offered these days is way better than anything from the early 80's and older. This coming from a guy that has had top of the line home and car stereos for year's.Music is second only to cars to me.I still have 100's of LP's and more disc's than I can use now.Over the years I have decided that a normal volume will save my hearing so I can enjoy music for years to come.I have had some loss of hearing from a misspent youth.Cars and music not much of a surprise.
Yeah there was a good wright up in Hot Rod a few months back about hearing loss from exhast i think i might be getting there since i drove my maverick around with open headers for 3 years back and forth to school and then building a huge system in my bird thats allways cranked it seems i feel you on the music and cars im the same way
