Hello Everyone
I've been talking to a dealer in my area about the 05 Mustang over the last several weeks. I told him what I'm looking for ( Sonic Blue GT with the automatic transmission), and he said he would contact me when he had any information on the car.
The dealer e-mailed me a few days ago (Sept 7) and he told me the Mustangs were scheduled to arrive in one month, and he would be in contact a week or two before they arrive so we could go over pricing and appraise my current car.

I just got off the phone with him a few minutes ago and he told me that they will be getting the regular Mustangs (V-6) in the first shipment, and that the GT was 'a ways off' (his words).

Is this delay due to the engine problems in the GT or is Ford holding back shipment of the GT to a later date?
Does anyone know when the GT will be shipped and available for sale?

Only delay that is confirmed is the v6 manual. GTs have been produced already. However, the cars don't start shipping until 9.27

Thanks for the information. I'll mention this to the dealer when I call him on Monday and see what he says.

2MustangJohn who works on the line at AAI has confirmed that Ford is building both GT's and V6s.

I'll bet that the problem is that people are ordering far more GTs than Ford planned on. The planned mix is 68% V6s, 32% GTs. There is such pent up demand for the 05 GTs that there could be long waits.

Eventually after things settle out I'd guess that V6 vs V8 sales will end up near Ford's plan (that's the V6 - V8 ratio that Ford has been selling for years).
