:bang:

I just got the car washed this weekend & noticed the "M" on Mustang started to peel off the car. I just broke out into a cold sweat! I'm the kind who drives 2 MPH in the driveway so no pesky acorns or twigs just happen to jump up from under the car & cause a scratch to my precious baby. Anyway, has anyone else on here had this problem with the side graphics starting to peel? Does this not seem rather cheap??? Will the dealer replace these once they start to do this? Will they just remove them for me since I paid them GOOD money for them? Any suggestions on stripes or no stripes since I've obviously thinking about deleting them now? Thanks for the advice. Stupid cheap stickers! :bang:

Thats why you need to spend the extra dough and get painted stripes....Always best to go for quality if you plan on keeping it awile.

Delete them! It doesn't need a sticker saying its a "Mustang".

The Mustang is telling you something, it's telling you that V6 lettering is butt ugly and it wants you to take it off.

You don't need a sticker to tell anyone you are driving a Mustang

The lettering reminds me of those Renault "Le Car"(s) from the 80's. That's all I can think of when I see it.

Trust me, nobody is going to wonder what kind of car it is if the lettering comes off.

IMO I don't really care for the lettering myself either. But if you like it then keep it. Its your car and you should have it the way you want it.

Pressure water hoses and Decals :nono: Just like water and electricity, they do not play well together.

I have the decal on my mustang also...and the "M" on the drivers side was starting to work its way off. A friend of mine told me to put wax on it and I did, it seems to have worked so far. I just put the extra wax on and let it sit for about 30 mins. and then gently wax the excess off...so far so good.

okay, if the decal is just lifting bring it to the dealer and see if they will fix it. In the future you need to make sure you are careful when you wash the car. Never go close to the vinyl when using a power washer. This is a big :nono: especially when it comes to lettering. A little trick you can use. Buy a spray can of clearcoat paint. Spray a little into the lid. Using a small detail brush (paint brush), apply a small amount of the clearcoat to each corner of the letters. This will prevent them from lifting. Just use a very small amount. In the future, if you decide to remove the letters, you can remove the clearcoat by wetsanding the area.

You MUST wipe down the area where you want decals to be applied with denatured (rubbing) alcohol to remove any wax and/or glaze. I know it's a little too late for this advise, but if you are going to replace the decals - you need to do this step or you will be doing them all over again..
