We've all been "patiently" waiting on our new orders and I was wondering how many were able to take immediate delivery after their car arrived to the dealership. My time is near and it would probably do me in if I could not pick up my car the same day it came in. Are there any tricks out there to expedite the process? For example...having a blank check already made out to the dealer?

The short answer is yes, you can pick up your car the day it arrives. My dealer even offered to let me pick of my car at the train depot which is only a few miles from where I live.

The only thing that should hold up the delivery is if they find something wrong when it is delivered that they are trying to fix, or I would imagine if they had trouble with financing, it could be held up.
Or they could just be slow or trying to show it off in the showroom first.

My dealer called me on a Monday morning around 10:30am to say my car had arrived, and they would have it ready on Tuesday. I told them that was unacceptable, and since they closed at 9pm, I expected it to be ready by the end of the day since they had all day for prep. It was ready shortly after 3pm, so apparently, since my car was the first 2006 in town, they wanted to put it on their showroom floor for a bit, and who could blame them? When I went to pick it up, that's where it was at -- inside on their showroom floor right next to the $150K+ Ford GT, so I literally drove it off the showroom floor.

My car came in at 8:00 am on a Wed. Salesman caled as they were taking it off the truck. He said I could have it by 10:00. I requested that once they took the car off the truck that they don't do a thing to it. I couldn't get away from work so I went and inspected it that night. Test drove her and picked her up the following eveining.
