Good news is our car will have a build date tomorrow. Bad news is they said I get a discount on my interior upgrade package because they are out of the gauge color feature. Has anybody heard of this? 6 month to 1 year wait if I want the adjustable colored gauges.

It seems like they're really having supplier issues. Sorry to see you miss out on a desired option.

Yeap the V6 Mustangs have been put on hold as far as IUP is concerned. First time I've heard that they are going to build a car without MyColor but still give you the IUP?!??! If I read that right.

And the parts shortage is from Delphi who is doing the MyColor feature.

Whaaaaaaaaat???? Oh, I'm sorry, I guess you just didn't plan on selling many Mustangs with this feature! All is forgiven by your very patient and understanding buying public! WTG Ford! What's next? You going to kill off our beloved Cobra?

Yes, it sounds like they really messed up their forecasting! That's hard to believe, too, since they've been talking up the "My Color" gauges for over a year now! I also can't believe they can be 6 months to a year behind. That's terrible.

No, they didn't plan on it. Thats the problem. They planned for 50%, and it was more like 80% wanted it. It is Delphi, however, that can't ramp up quickly enough to meet demand, not ford.

Edit: the six months is probably overstating it a little though. if they were that far behind, they would just stop offering it on v6s at all for this model year and do GTs.

My car is being built next week and the dealer said nothing about that to me. Is this on all from now on, or just orders that havn`t been pulled yet?

Sounds like Ford needs to hire some Wal-mart brass to go in and beat up their suppliers for being Do Do Birds!

Brad? Karpo? Kevinb? Can someone answer the following:

1. Is this just on the V-6, or all including the GTs?

2. Can you get everything in the IUP except the MyColor?

1.) For now it is just the V6

2.) So far it's either IUP and wait or No IUP and get it now... Someone mentioned something about an IUP "Lite" but it isn't official.

I personally can't afford the Stang until September of 05, so I'll be waiting for the 06.

If your status is scheduled/clean then I bet you will get the my color with your IUP. My dealer said if all the parts are in stock to finish your car, then you get a scheduled/clean status. You might double check with your salesman on your current status.

This is official. Here is the e-mail I received from Ford rep:

Mustang Interior Sport Appearance Package Launched
To help address the demand for optional interior packages on Mustang, the following new package will be available to order on Mustang GT and/or V6 effective with December production (week 45):

18R - Interior Sport Appearance Package ($195 MSRP). This new interior package includes leather wrapped steering wheel with satin-aluminum spokes and either a satin-aluminum shifter (automatic) or leather wrapped shift **** (manual).

I don't think so because the IUP guages were different on the V6 and GT
feel free to tell me I am wrong because I am not sure

I just call my dealer. My car has Not been built yet. I asked him about the shortage of the Iup including the colored dash. I told him check on it and get back to me. I also told him I WILL be cancelling my order if the rumors are true.
Well- Sooooo close but yet soooo far. If I have to wait I might as well wait for the 06. I bet if ford starts getting cancelations on orders they will find the parts they need REAL QUICK.,
