I'd like a cover myself, I think it gives it a good finished look, like on the ford trucks...

But if that cover comes with an extra 'large cost' price-tag, I'd pass it up...

Thumbs down

Nothing seems to work better that writing a letter... Does anyone have contact information for Terry Wagner, manager, Ford Modular V-8/V-10 Engines ?

So far all I have is:

Ford Motor Company
Customer Relationship Center
P.O.Box 6248
Dearborn, Michigan 48126

I'm hoping to find this cover under the hood when I take delivery in Sept.-Oct.

Personally, I don't care too much about a plastic cover one way or the other...and if they do end up including it, I think it would look MUCH better in black, maybe with shiny raised lettering saying "Powered by Ford."

Kahdir,

Thanks for your interest and info. I know that this cover has been topic of discussion internally also. I will pass this info on to the program team to see what the availability is. You may hear back from me or someone else who is handling this.

Thanks again for interest in the all new Mustang, I am sure you will be happy with yours, I have driven them and they are great.

I have quick question, how did you get my name to contact on this? Just curious.

Subject: 2005 Mustang GT Engine Cover

Hello Sherry Kollien,

As a consumer as well as an Aftermarket Accessories Distributor, I am rather interested in the engine cover shown on the preproduction Mustang GTs. Based on a small poll I started at http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=2508 about the fore mentioned cover, it appears to be a possible homerun item on an already outstanding car. With my car on order, I hope to be able to purchase this item as well as an inventory to resell. If this can be done, please contact me to discuss pricing and availability. Best regards.

I really hope Ford makes the engine cover available. IMO the engine bay is a mess without it. Especially since they have already shown it to us with it on. The cover makes it much nicer. So PLEASE PUT IT ON THERE!

What if Ford asked us My Color gauges, or Engine Cover, pick one?

Now there's a good question. My vote is for the my-color gauges since it would be harder and more costly for me to add those later.

My Color Gauges,
1) Chics will dig the gauges, not the cover!!!!!
2) Ford will sell more V- 6 cars, with IUP !!!!!!!
3)The aftermarket if you must have the cover!!!!!!!
4) The cover dose not make it any faster!!!!!!!! :usa:

I needed a #4, so I went with it, but you can see how fast your going, in any of 125 colors. The cover can not claim that!!!!!

NO COVER. What good is looking at a piece of aluminum/plastic. I want to see that engine block!

The 4.6 mustang intake has been made of plastic for awhile now and it has worked well. Ford just had the throttle plate bolted to the top. (As seen in the picture of Brads engine). It even has the horse on top. The new engine cover builds on the old 4.6 look (by using the horse) and gives it a much cleaner appearance. I voted to keep it.

I also voted for the cover a while ago, and then thought why get so worked up over the cover!!! I can get it in the aftermarket, there are plenty of people that want it, so I belive that it will be available there!!!!!!!!

I would think that Ford would take every opportunity available to advertise. What better place than an eye catching shinny cover under the hood. Hello? Ford folks are you listening?
