After hearing c/u again on Friday, and my dealer telling me your next but I can't tell you when, I finally took matters into my own hands. My dealer helped by sending me a list of all the GTs scheduled to arrive in my area. I spent the afternoon sending out emails to everyone, and got back a lot of bad news. Already sold and regional market adjustment were the two standard answers. Then this morning I got a call from a dealer about a 1 1/2 hour ride. The car you inquired about just arrived, not sold, no markup. Now its in my driveway. Let the mods begin!

Good for you.

I might end up doing the same thing in a month or so. So far have been able to control the urge to go and get one directly from some dealer. Mostly that has been since none of them has had a close enough match to what I want--seems to be a lot more automatics on dealer lots than manuals.

I was a dealer the other day (not where I ordered my car) and the hauler arrived with a black GT. I looked at the sales person and asked if it was sold and he said no. I asked how it was equipped and it was a auto with cloth interior. They wanted $2000 over MSRP and I smiled and walked away. As I was leaving he came over to the car and said, "if you want one you should consider this because you aren't going to get a better deal anywhere else!"

Did you tell him you did consider it, and that's why you were leaving?

Hey Rich... drove by a dealership on El Camino, west of Santa Clara last week and they had a couple GTs sitting on the lot. You'll find one.

Thanks to all. The one I got was identical to the one I had ordered. This car is unbeleivable! Anyone in the Philly area looking, the dealer has another Silver, IUP/ICAP, Auto on the floor, and several more due to arrive shortly. Send me a PM if anyone wants more info.

Congrats - Did you happen to get it at Bound Brook Ford ? If so, they had a silver one like that in their showroom. Had a Torch Red GT at a off site lot mixed in with overstock !
