Convertible Top Help
Convertible Top Help
I'm new to this forum and I need some unexpected help, I have a 07 convertible
that the wife drives, when she came in this evening the top wouldn't go up. I can hear some clicking noise under the top when she pushes the switch, but it don't move. Is there any way to manually raise the top till I can try to find out what is wrong with it.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Randle:
STOP! Don't try to manually raise the top, you can bend the frame if you try.
Check your fuses? I'd start there first.
You might want to check for obstructions to the motor? The motor is located behind the passenger side rear interior panel. You'll need to pull the top piece that the front passenger seat belt passes through, then you can clearly see the motor assembly. There are no screws, just retainer clips.
What do you see for the above two points?
The manual shows two fuses, and they are both good. You can hear the relays clicking when you push the switch.
I removed the cover you were talking about and I can see the cylinder, but not the motor. Nothing looks out of place or binding on either cylinder.
Thanks

The procedures to diagnose are here:
Convertible Top Diagnosis.
Follow those. You'll figure it out with that.
If you cannot do these, for whatever reason, then you should take it to the dealer who has the proper tools and training/knowhow to figure it out for you.
