I am convinced I caused this by repeatidly pressing open when the top was already open in an attempt to make it go lower. Luckily it was covered by warranty and I got an entirely new top assembly.
if it shredded itself it doesn't sound like the motor caused it. what did the dealer say caused it?

Being wire-challenged, I was a bit aprehensive going in, but I did the easy module first (the 1-touch turn signal) and tried it out and viola, it works perfectly! I even changed the blinks to 5 already (stock is 6)...

Then it was on to the 1-Touch drop top... A bit more involved, but other than a few close calls (I messed up on of the quick connects, but easily fixed it and on one of the wire looms, you need to connect to a black wire, and there is a black and dark grey wire that look VERY similar sitting right next to each other). After connecting everything, I did a test run and... PERFECT! I love it! It didn't seem to drop or go up any faster (although, I didn't have the car on either, just on to the ignition), but it works great! 1 touch! I couldn't be happier... The hardest part was putting the SJB back on the car... For some reason, it did not want to hook back in there, and there really isn't much room to work in that footwell!)...

I suggest having plenty of light (cause some of those wires are a bit close together and hard to tell apart), a lot of patience and enjoy the mints afterwards!

Well fine! You beat me to it. I installed my modules this morning in a 95 degree garage! I think I lost a few pounds in the process.

Anyway, I could not take pictures of the install as promised since my camera decided to take a nose dive to the hard garage floor. Not too good on plastic if ya know what I mean.

The install went well. I did notice the two black wires on the one connector. I didn't have a dark grey, only two blacks. I guess I picked the correct one. I even programmed my turn signals for 5 flashes as well. Six just seemed too many. I may back it off to four if I can ever get the car out on the road again to test them.

As for putting the SJB back in, I learned from experience from previous work in that area that if you drop the glove box (not remove it, just drop it past its rubber stops), that you can easily see where to put the top tabs when reinstalling the box. Makes it a snap when you can see what you are doing.

At the same time I installed the replacement rear window one-touch module that Larry sent me. Now my rear windows work both up and down as advertised.

Over all I am extremely pleased with Larrys' products. And the mints are good too.

excellent idea. Maybe Larry will add that to the instructions. it definately makes it alot easier especially at the end of the install.

Motor was fine, nothing happened to it. However I fully suspect that when the motor kept opening the already open top it caused a hinge to snap. I didn't just keep it pressed either, I would keep clicking it because the initial thrust seemed to lower the top a tiny bit each time. Then I heard a strange clunk which I didn't really worry about at the time. Finally when it came time to close the top all hell broke loose. The bars started bending and tearing out of the canvas so I stop, panic, and try to lower it only to get more bending, snapping, and tearing. Dealer looked at it, didn't ask any questions (personal friend of mine). But when I picked her up he winks at me and tells me not to have anyone sit on the top again. I explained to him that this really wasn't the case, but he just kept smiling.

While I am almost certain that my actions caused this, I am not too sure that this will happen to every car. Maybe that hinge had crappy welding from the factory and was already a weak point. I worry however that the Webelectric system might cause this if you have a weak hinge. Or that after years of use it will ultimately break a hinge.

It was 98 and muggy here (for central California, we usually don't have the mugginess) and I was sweatin' like a pig at a Luau! I *know* I lost some weight! LOL!

The 2 black wires were very close and it took me about 5 minutes of checking them out to make sure which was the right one, but when I shined my flashlight on them just the right way, the black one looked like a deep, shiney black where the grey one looked like a dark, matte grey... But looked VERY close to the same color! I figured I had a 50/50 chance and I too picked the right one...

And that's a good tip on the SJB and the glovebox, that probably would have really helped! It took me like 20 minutes, but I finally latched those suckers up in there! I was afraid that with all the muscle I had to give it, especially getting the wire looms back in front of the box, that I was going to pull out some of the connections I made, but everything still works, so I must have done okay...

I have the sequential tail lights as well, and am also a big Larry fan! Who doesn't like a guy who adds mints to the order?

Well, I couldn't wait to get out and test the new toys. I took a chance and crept along at a snails pace down our wonderful street construction. Luckily the mud lake at the end of the "street" was dried up.
Anyway, I discovered that the five flashes are just right for the way I change lanes. It also works well for on and off ramps. I got to show off the one-touch top at a stop light in town (the longer of the two traffic lights we have). It is sooooo nice not having to hold that stupid button forever waiting for the top to drop, or raise.

And I went dor a drive and I love the 1 touch top! I can actually put my seat belt on, get in gear, etc while the top is going up or down so that when it's done, I am ready!

The only thing I am worried about is that when the top comes back up, the motor keeps going for about 7-10 seconds after the top connects to the frame... I get the latches on and it still goes for anouther 3-4 seconds... It's not a big thing, I guess I am fast at closing my latches...
Has anyone had any issues with the motor still running after the top is fully up or down? I really want to buy this product, but don't want to hose up my motor. I put my top up and down 2 - 3 times per day.

I ran into another problem that the top would stop randomly stop while coming back up on occasion... I talked with Larry and he had me troubleshoot it, but eventually, I had to uninstall it and return it to Larry so he could reprogram it...

Well, I just re-installed the new *updated* module yesterday and so far so good! You actually 'program' the top now, which is a nice touch and the motor doesn't seem to run after the top comes up or down... I have only used it twice now since, but so far, it works great!

Nope, the windows don't go back up by themselves. I for one am glad they don't. Sometimes I like to leave them down for ventilation.

Oh great! Another updated module I will probably end up getting as well. If you could, please explain what programming you do to the top now.
