Complaint sent to Ford

A trans problem this soon in can be disheartening for sure. I've been there and done that and let me tell you, you're being treated well. If they're trucking in a new trans, be happy and relax.
In 1986 I bought my dream car, a '86 Mustang GT. They were very hard to come by at the time and I was lucky enough to get one. After 1,800 miles, I was on my way to a business meeting in Delaware. As I was traveling down the turnpike here in NJ at about 75MPH, my shifter started to do the mambo better than Ricky Ricardo. Then I smelled something and smoke began filling the cabin. I pulled into a rest stop and when I looked under the car, there was fluid leaking.
I decided to drive the car back home which of course fried heck outta that T-5. I totally figured I was going to be getting a new T-5 anyway, so what the heck right?
That started a 1 year escapade that would've crippled anyone on this board. The dealer was lying to me about 90% of the time. They were rebuilding the trans. Waiting for parts yada yada yada. At one point, I was without my car for 6 weeks WITHOUT ANY LOANER VEHICLE AT ALL. Not even a tricycle.
Anyway, you're getting a new trans. Believe me, things will be fine. Relax and then enjoy the car when you get it back.
By the way, I had to eventually replace the T-5 at my own expense to get rid of the problem. $1,000 out of pocket.
