Click When starting, Shaker Re-initializes

Hello Everyone

After quite a while of no trouble I have a somewhat intermittent problem that seems to be getting worse. When I go to start my car...no matter time of day, night, temp, I will occasionally get a click instead of it starting....then if I hold the key there it will actually start....the weird thing is once it actually starts, my shaker 500 re-initializes itself, I lose all CD presets and the IUP dash controls go back to default. Anyone have any idea what this is? I took it in to the dealer and they werent able to reproduce it...but now its getting more and more often...any pointers so I can find what this might be.

Thanks

Sounds like a battery, alternator or a loose battery connection. Also check the ground connection to the engine.

it has litterally been out of the car twice

once for 3 hours

once for 1 hour

and everything is still preset

Just wondering...where is the ground that runs to the engine?

I will check my battery connections tommorow.

The one to the engine is behind the A\C compressor under the car. There is also a chassis ground to the passenger side strut tower.

yesterday I checked my battery terminal connections and they were quite loose. Could be the culprit so I tightened them down...we'll see if it happens again.
