Chrome in winter

How bad is it for chrome wheels to drive around in salt and all the junk that goes along with winter. I ask because I just bought some chrome wheels and Im not sure whether or not to sell my stock wheels.
Oh, and you southerners....not taunting.

I'd keep the stock ones for winter duty. Salt is a killer and you'll get real tired of washing your wheels in cold temps to avoid pitting. My $.02.

Salt is just about the worst thing you can get on chrome. On my Mach 1's, it ate through the clearcoat on my brushed finish. They're terrible.

Keep stockers and swap 'em. I run black Bullits from late October till mid May. Then put on my GT500 Chrome replicas, except this year, still have not done the swap. This weekend for sure....again....I think!

Yeah... The salt did my stock rims in. I looked at some photos I took last summer on vacation and they don't even pop like they used to. Pitted and everything... Ugh! I have the optional 17's with the split spokes and I like them a lot so I MIGHT have them redone and jazz them up a bit. And this December I will be back in hoopty status for the winter

If your aluminum wheels are first coated with Copper, then Nickel, and then Chromium, you will hold out much better than just Copper to Chromium. I wash mine promptly after every drive through suspected de-icer agent. Keep them well waxed too. Do you know your plating process?
