Chilton or Haynes Manual?

Chilton or Haynes Manual?
Which manual should I buy for my S197? A automotive technician I used to know told me that Haynes manuals are junk. I have one for my 98 S10 and I don't have any problems with it.

IMO they *both* suck.
I had Chilton manuals for YEARS... they are full of factual errors and unhelpful information. For example, various Chilton manuals from 1979 to 2004 *all* incorrectly stated that the Mustang (Fox, SN95, Edge) had a hydraulic clutch when in fact it was CABLE OPERATED!!!
My other gripes include simplistic instructions.
"Step 1) Remove engine.
Step 2) Fix part.
Step 3) Replace engine.
Step 4) Start and road test."
Surrrrre.... THAT was a help!
Last gripe:
"take everything apart and then use Tool T153q4253q21445 to remove that last bolt."
It would be nice if you would either TELL me where to get the tool ,or SHOW me what it looks like so I can at least TRY to sound intelligent at the parts counter!!
Like I said. They both suck. 'Nuff said.

When I was young, stupid and broke, I always bought the Chilton and/or Hanes manuals. Now, I'm no longer young, usually not stupid and generally not broke, so I just buy the factory service manuals instead. They are SO much better than the junk the C/H puts out. It's worth it.
