Never know, the baby may like the sound of the constant rumble. Somettimes it helps to put them to sleep. Mine likes my Borla's, drone and all...

Getting ready to cruise!

Although, I have to admit...normally, we put them in the Yukon!

I have a 2 yr old and a 6 month old, and both seats fit inthe back. The rear facing is on the passenger side, and the other on my side so I can have enough leg room. The set-up is the same as Keeper's picture above. I also have a convertible, and yes, we go on road trips with everyone in it.

Cheers

I mounted the rear facing seat base in the center of the back seat using the inner two anchor points. The seat itself fits snugly in between the front seats. Soon I will be putting the front facing seat in one or the other rear seats. Small people can still use the rear seat as well with the base in. I haven't tried it with the seat as well though.

ETA: My daughter can't stay awake in this car either.

you sure thats such a good idea, I think those so called profesionals would have a cow if they saw how you mounted that seat.

The rear facing seat I use is Evenflo. It won't fit with the base, though - that we keep in my wife's liberty.

Cheers

The only thing that could knock that setup loose on the road is the forceful removal of the front seats and the anchors tearing out of the body in the backseat. If that happens we are all in really bad shape already.

The local fireman actually complemented me on figuring a way to fit 5 people in a stang.

You can make it work . . .

One kid will be super easy - try doubling up. This always raises a few eyebrows when we park and it looks like clowns getting out of the circus car.

Keeper --
That. Is. Funny.
I hope you have that shot framed somewhere.
Same goes for Benzito (Mike in Portland).

This is the only time I've gotten my wife to look at this site -- she's all over the baby pictures! She still thinks I'm a "meathead" for talking with other "meatheads" around the country about our cars. Oh well -- she's very hormonal right now. But otherwise a pretty cool gal.

These responses have been great. Very helpful -- thanks. The wife's about 5'2" so she should still be able to fit in the front while kiddo is in back. We bought a Chico seat with a base -- for the money we spent it ought to make my kid smarter, too -- and it looks like it'll work, but I may have ot seek out a certified car seat installer to be sure. Thanks again, fellow meatheads.

Clarification: I ordered the car in November 2006. Picked it up Feb. 5.
Then, on Valentine's day, my wife says she can't have any wine because...you guessed it.

All good though.

I have the Eddie Bower seats. My wife has the one with the base in hers and I have the full seat in mine.

Thanks for posting those pics (using them to convince the wife), now maybe, I'll get that Bullitt when it comes out.

Sounds like a rear facing seat is doable even between the rear seats, as well as behind the passenger seat (wife is 5'5", I'm a foot taller) so no go behind me.

We're due in mid-Feb, so I hope to have convinced her by then...

Haha, and my parents say that the Mustang isn't practical.
