I occassionally read GM boards and the guys over there think that statement is as ridiculous as we think it is over here.
Also, many are saying its quotes like that which make them lose confidence/faith in the car company.

Wanna race? Yugo bellow is not one that was in Car And Driver, but with only 230 hp it can reach 0-60 mph in 4.3 sec and 1/4 mile in 12.8 sec.

As for you Yugo you pictured, that is really cool that it is that fast. However, Yugos have horrible reliability ratings and build quality, which, I think is the reason why someone made fun of them earlier. Also, I seriously doubt that any Yugo could keep up with a Mustang, much less a Z06 on a track with any curves.
You can make anything go fast in a straight line if you do enough drivetrain mods. How many g's can that Yugo pull on a skidpad? The new Mustang does .89, I believe. The Vette is, and has been, well over that.
One other question. How has your Intrepid been as far as reliablity? I've heard terrible things about the drivetrain in those cars.

It doesn't really matter how good the 05 mustang is and how mediocre the competition is. The people living in the trailer parks still have to buy chevys, I think its a law or something.
And besides, when ford brought out the 681/2 428 CJ mustangs that basically dominated NHRA Super stock it didn't stop people from buying chevys then too.
Granted they all actually had nice cars back then.

You know statements from GM like that remind me of how they just WOULDN'T GIVE UP on the Aztek. I honestly, have NEVER met anybody who found that car attractive. In fact, a freinds father who works in Detroit for GM always used to make the joke: "Everytime I see an Aztek on the road I think, 'Oh look, there goes a fellow GM employee.'" Gotta love company cars I guess.

Oops forgot to add: As far as comparing the Cobalt SS's 205hp 2.0 Sc-4-banger to the Mustang's 210hp (unless they haven't changed that number again) 4.0 V6, I have one word...torque.
Cobalt SS: 205 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 200 lbs.-ft. of torque at 4400 rpm, Curb weight Manual Trans. 2,991 lbs.
Mustang V6: 210 horsepower at 5300 rpm and 240 lbs.-ft. of torque at 3500 rpm, Curb weight Manual Trans. 3,300 lbs.
Tire width for both is 215.

If GM were smart, they would just leave this catagory alone! Heck, the Firebird & Camero combined couldn't out sell the Mustang. But, GM has a big ego, and don't be surprised when an all new retro-like Camero is introduced. How sad is that?
I think its funny that a 26k 4.6 300hp Mustang GT is beating a 32k 5.7 350hp GTO! Now there is going to be a 400hp GTO - LOL!!
GM should just be happy that they have the Corvette.
I have never seen so much waste in an auto company. GM creates all these different cars, and what sells the best? The freakin Grand Am-LOL
A few years ago, GM said that they wanted to down-size their car lineup. They want to be more like Ford, and make a better profit. Well I haven't seen it happen yet. They keep on making models after models that people do not want to buy. Ford is far from perfect, but GM just doesn't have a clue!!

Yall! Somone around here bought a goat. It looks like a grand am on Steroids! While amusing, I wouldn't want to drive it. Its well.....purpley blue. Looks like a bubble.
An interesting fact- my alero is built on the same platform as the Grand am..GM N class cars. Both junk... Lovely looking junk, but junk nonetheless........
Heres where GM messed up: I have driven them my whole life... Until DEX COOL! I HAD to have this alero! Rented one, FELL IN LOVE! Drove it for 15 months with no problems.Until it hit 80,000 miles...... Its cost me over $1,000 to put it back together, and its not even my fault. If I messed up the car by driving it like I stole it SURE, but to replace the entire cooling system because of a GM defect they won't own up to burns my tail..
No I didn't join the class action because Its for the lawyers checkbooks to get fat on, not to replace or buy back the thousands of cars GM did this too.. I may have collected $10 but thats about it.
Check it out yourself: Gm lemons

I was born in Croatia, but I'm a Serb, so answer to your question is Serbia. But Serbia & Montenegro is 1 country (borders exist of course). After the war that started in 1991 and ended in 1995 Serbia and Montenegro stayed together and formed Yugoslavia (Slovenia, Bosnia, Croatia, and Macedonia becamed independent states), and then few years ago they changed their name to Serbia & Montenegro.
Yugo may have horrible reliability ratings in the United States, but back home its good, average car. Average Yugo lasts longer in Serbia & Montenegro than Focus or Neon will last in the United States. I'm telling you this from personal experience, because my dad used to own 1979 and later 1984 Zastava 101 (part of Yugo models). Never gave him any problems. When we moved to USA in 1999 he bought 1992 Ford Escort. We spent more money on repairs every months than car is actually worth (I think even monthly payment on Mustang is less than what we spent on repairs on Escort).
My Intrepid is most powerfull Intrepid Dodge offered in 1997 (3.5L V6), and special options include autostick (love that part), 8-way powered driver's seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift ****, instrument panel message center, Sport badging, and Fortress wheel covers. However, quality really stinks. Intrepid currently have 84,000 miles and a lot of problems that started at around 54,000 miles. At 54,000 miles water pump died, automatic window opener on passenger door stoped working, stereo died. At 80,000 miles something went wrong with stearing wheel (acting really funny on snow and rain, turning left/right without me doing anything) and night before Thanksgiving, when I was driving 65 mph during snowstorm, windshield wipers died. I could've been killed that night. I like my Intrepid, but quality really stinks. This was one of top Dodge cars in 1997. If Intrepid 3.5 have this many problems, I don't even wanna imagine how many problems Neon owners have.

My experience so far is that NO Chevy with a price range south of 50k is gonna hold a candle to my pony with just the little mod investment i've made so far. Tack on another 5k for a superchager and i'm still south of 40k and would eat them alive on a quarter mile jaunt........Give me a break with the Cobalt talk....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAA I wouldn't even expend the gasoline it would take to run against one of those turds!
