Sorry Matt even the spoiler. Lets not forget. On a race car such as the GT-R it is functional. On a street car it is just riced out dead weight. Ford wouldn't do that because it would tick everyone off royally, sept for 'em ricers.

No what I can argue is that that huge hiney wing on the GT-R wont even being to create any down force like other wings unless the car is moving at around 100 miles per hour. Thus, on a street car that will hardly ever hit that kinda speed it is just dead weight like most wings. Basically all a spoiler on a street car is there for is looks. Hense forth dead weight. Now the regular wing on the Mustang is fine for looks and the little bit of 100+ mile per hour driving and it doesn't weight as much that that huge gaudy looking thing bolted to the rear of the GT-R. That's all I was saying. You need to be at high speeds for any real downforce to be excerted on the rear end of a car, by a wing or a ducktail.
Not trying to be an *ss but that's the reason why you don't see giant GT wings on stock vehicles on the street. The only time you see GT wings are on rice cars on the street because they think it looks "cool" to have that huge thing there. When really it isn't "cool" at all. It really isn't cool also for the fact that people bolt GT wings that don't even look somewhat nice to their Honda's and other asian import crap cars. See where I'm going with this?
I for one don't see Ford straping on a GT wing to a Mustang in the near future except for the famed SVT Cobra R's, that we all dream about owning but will never get a chance to own because of cost. The only reason why Ford puts the GT wing on the SVT Cobra R's is because it's a factory built race car. The car can be taken right off hte street and placed on the track and be right at home there. So in fact then it isn't rice and "has a purpose". On SVT Cobra R's it isn't dead weight, all I'm saying is that on a regular street car it is.

OK WaveMan, I can go with that. I'd be curious to see just how the downforce stacks up at lower speeds. Obviously you won't get the full benifit of that huge wing in 5 o'clock traffic And by the by, I'm not arguing for the wing, I think it'd look rediculous on a street 'Stang.

The GTR is able to use side exhaust because of a different floor pan, The GTR only keeps 80% of the prduction body parts.

All of the after market companies have to make sure that their parts pass certain emissions tests. Specially in CA, I think CA has the toughest emissions laws in the whole country. :notnice:
What do you guys think ?

I like it - but it is a little busy. Me wonders if all those doo-dads might get a little hard to live with after a while, once the novelty wears off. The forward body cladding is a little too much, IMHO. On the other hand, maybe I'm just getting too old and conservative.
I would like to see a cleaner SE model, like a new Bullitt, for example. Or a Mach 1.

I just want the grille and the ducktail. I want a simple 69 mach-like chin spoiler for the front and louvers. Im glad they put my Halibrands on there for me already

I like except for a couple of recommended changes. The front chin spoiler is a little to low and the tiny extra lights have got to go. Love the mirrors. The side exhausts on the GT-R is possible because they moved the gas tank to the trunk as most race cars have.
