Cel from removing cats

I need to get my 2005 gt inspected and the cel keeps coming up because the off road x-pipe that I put on. Is there a way to remove the cel without removing the pipe.

Google it. It's against the law, so I would think we'd not want to help in breaking laws, like street racing, which'll get a thread locked.

Yeah, I'm sure there's a good reason you wanted them gone, but seriously. If you can't get inspected without them, then you need them, and that's kinda that, ya ask me.

Put them back on and pass inspection

Then what you do after that is up to you

A tuner, Mil-eliminator, or putting the old mid pipe back on will solve your issue. I'm surprised you didn't look through the 05-10 section to see if someone else already asked this.

Not against the law for offroad use or in counties where not required. We could assume he is planning on moving to an inspection county. So then we could help him. Right?

Yes not against the law for offload use

But it's also a federal law not to remove functioning cats from a road going vehicle that originally had them

The tune will turn off the rear O2 sensors that cause the light and also ease drivability as a result of not having the bad reading throw off the computer.

But as far as inspection it depends what kind.

Electronic, sniffer, or visual?

It won't pass any of those.

And I agree I don't think the MIL eliminators work on these cars but I'm not sure of it. You don't ever hear of anyone using them on s197s so there must be a reason.

Yeah it's for off road use.... Not trying to get you guys in trouble for aiding and abetting. I just really need my light off. The tuners just turn of the sensor so if you are getting your car inspected then they will know.

Mil eliminator will pass on an electronic obd2 emissions test. Visual most techs don't looks. 96 and up no asm test.

Tunes can also fool the machine. Hence why mine passes.

They don't make them for 05 up due to a different style sensor. Tune is your only option
