Cd Error
Cd Error
My alternator recently died and I had it replaced. Now my CD player doesn't work. I get some stupid CD ERROR message. Radio works fine.
I have the service manual and it has a bunch of internal radio trouble codes. The manual says to clear the trouble codes out, but I need a ford tool to do it, ugh. The fun never ends.

eh tried that already
I have so much custom wiring in my console that I'm afraid to bring it in and have them mess it up. I'd have to take out my engine start button if I brought it in.

I don't know, it just refers to the diagnostic tool. The only tools it lists at the top are:
Worldwide Diagnostic System
(WDS)
Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) with appropriate adapters, or equivalent diagnostic tool
doubt you have those
doubt you have those
FYI-Audio system faults are nearly (if not always) hard faults, requiring a hardware swap. Scan tools,WDS, NGS, PDS and the like cannot do anything other than down/upload configuration from audio unit to audio unit. Unfortunately, it looks like a trip to the dealer is your only option, Dustin. Too bad you are not near NE Ohio!
