The first thing I need to do when I get my 06 is install a car alarm (I live in apartments). What do yall suggest? What brands are good? What models are good? How much do they cost? How much does it cost to install? I'm not rich, which are some good budget values that are still high quality?

Thanks for the info.

I think Active Theft is exactly what he's worried about.

Sorry I couldn't resist...

But yeah, why don't you get the factory system. I've been very happy with mine.

How much does the factory system cost? To be honest, I didn't even think about it until after I ordered my car. I don't want to change my order again (yeah, I already changed it once) and delay delivery any longer...=(

If I don't get the factory anti theft system, do I still get power (remote) locks?

Thanks for the replies.

My dealer just informed me that Ford is out of anti-theft right now. I deleted my anti-theft so my order would not be delayed. I wanted a two way paging/ remote start alarm anyway.

Is it possible to rig a remote start system to work with a manual transmission car? I never leave my car in gear anyways...only use the e-brake.

There is more information available here. http://www.the12volt.com
I know there are systems but they require multiple failsafes to prevent starting in gear.
