This is to mustangers in Canada.
Any ideas how to get a mustang GT without a spoiler? I'm not into ruining a brand new paint job by having it ripped off and repainted. There's got to be a way to get one without a spoiler. I've talked to dealers and they say the spoiler is standard for Canada...yeah...so what, they are from the same factory, so why can't I get a mustang without a spoiler direct from factory? HELP!!
Got to get me one without that spoiler!

You could always either:
a) arrange to swap decklids with a dealer in the states/just across the boarder
B ) arrange with someone on here or another site who has your colour decklid and wants a spoiler.
c) realize that the spoiler looks friggen sweet and keep it.
That's all I can think of.
Our contact in Canada said spoiler delete option is on the table for 06, but nothing is for sure. Nothing I would hold out for now anyway.

I tell you Tyson.....I still scratch my head as to why Canadian orders from the same factory can't get the same options (incl. spoiler delete)??? Sorry, and you know what I know......Spoiler Delete = Retro Mustang Fastback.

There was another thread where they said the spoiler was made in Canada. So it possibly could be one of those deals where we (Canadians) make the spoiler but don't delete it because it takes away work in our own country.......

My dealer and I looked at the deck lid of the 05 and It's merely 4 little nuts and bolts to get it off. My dealer actually agrees with me and so they are removing it and fixing it in house. Best thing is I get to keep it! I dont know what Ill do with it though!

All i can think of doing is getting my dealer to order a non wingy rear deck from across the line.
I wonder if a call to ford canada would help?

I thought I heard my name, in my anti-spoiler crusade
Just as Dan said, if you life close to the US border, find a local dealer on the other side and saw decklids.
Yes there will be 4 small holes to patch up otherwise. If the bodyman does a bad job stitching up those holes, the sheetmetal could warp, and no one wants that.
Maybe, just maybe, if this commodity hold on spoilers will last a long time, they might just add spoiler delete in Canada. Its a longshot, but you never know.

They are patching the wholes. I wont worry about their body guy. Fransis did my dads 67 1/4 panel work and he ahd to fix some rust pits. Very close to what size the deck lids spoiler holes are. He did a great job and I trust he'll do a god job...hopefully!

Although this does bring up a point I never thought of...Maybe thats a way a person wants to go.
