I would like to buy a new gt; however, there is a used 2005 on the lot at my home town. The dealer is asking way to much for it. It is a black gt, has ICAP, IUP, upgraded wheels, Shaker 1000, i am not sure if it has the added air bags, or security system. The car has 11,000 miles on it and they are asking $29,000. I know it isn't worth that at all. How low could the price go. There is the same car in Florida with 8,000 miles for $26,000. I am a college student trying to pay for school and hopefully going to medical school. I could buy a new mustang, but I would have to wait another year. I go to college in north Georgia. I could always go to Atlanta and get a good price on a new car from a familar dealership. I was looking at this car because I probably could buy it now and it would be supporting my local dealership. However, I would gladly go north to save money. I need some advice from the boards if possible. Thank you.

Definately shop around but as you already have found, some dealers have marked up the price to an insane number but they will get it.

I agree with John, shop around but also be aware that these cars are going fast and that is why the dealerships can get away with the markups.

If you can afford the time off college you could get the one in FL and drive it back, a mini road trip that way.
