BULLITT Tease
I would have bought a DHG GT without a second thought if Ford actually offered it
It's the motor trend car, met the guy who bought it a few months ago at a local car meet. He had the MT issue with him. The car looks great in that color but nothing particularly special about it other than the repaint. I don't even think it had IUP.
Guess he likes going to meets to show it off. Kinda neat to have a car that was in a magazine I suppose.

I'd like to see Ford discontinue Grabber Orange after 2007 and bring in DHG for 2008. Then, disco the DHG after 2008 for Grabber Blue in 2009. I got exactly what I wanted. Let the Bullitt fans get what they want, and I think there are mucho Grabber Blue fans out there that would scoop up GB like it was going out of style.
Here is the deal on that car.
As Tony said, it is the Motor Trend photo shoot car. It was painted by Ford just for their story, it was originally Screaming Yellow. The current owner of the car went thru A LOT of hoops to get it. As for the pictures, they are from the 2006 Bullitt Nationals event held last weekend in San Francisco, those who want to see more photos can find them at www.imboc.com.
As for the "tease". Sorry Folks, there WILL NOT be another Bullitt.
To many issues for Ford to revist this project again.
Regarding the color DHG, the paint code "PY" for Dark Highland Green is Bullitt specific, and per the agreement with the McQueen Estate is not to be used on another Mustang again.
Of course, this does not mean that Ford won't simply change the paint code or call the color by a different name.

If you read over on IMBOC, you can see posts where people have described the "troubles" and special arrangements had to be made to get the original Bullitt produced. I have heard similar comments from Scott Hoag, who was the program manager for the '01 car.
There were some things mentioned that a prototype exists for the S197 body style. This was confirmed by Art Hyde, the former Team Mustang program engineer, but no decision was still made when this posted about a month ago.
A new one would be neat but the Boss seems more likely.

I too, would have waited a year or more to get DHG... I'm really disappointed they didn't offer the color from 05 to 07... even if it shows up miraculously in '08... it would be tough to trade in
