Does anyone know if the current bullit fuel door would fit the 05. I really like the way it looks on the current car, was thinking on putting it on the new pony as well

I can't see why you'd want it. There's a fake gas cap on the back, so to keep it somewhat believe I would think the real gas cap should somewhat blend in. Just my $0.02.

agreed. though the BULLITT fuel door was very cool, FORD is thinking classic 60's retro, and the new fuel cap is closer to what I have on my 68' -- though I wish FORD would have left the fuel tank opening in the rear of the 05, you never have to remember which side the tank is on at the gas station.

I don't think any car built in the last 15 years has a fuel filler in the back. This has to be some kind of federal regulation with regards to rear crashes.

I agree with decipher... bullitt fuel door not needed

VERY doubtful.

The fuel door on the 05 IS bigger than what is current.

I have a Bullitt fuel door on my stang and I don't think it'll fit at all.

Even if it was the same size, you wouldn't want it.

Check out the 05 fuel door...
Its not flat.
Its actually got a crease in it, and flows with the body lines.

The Bullitt fuel door would be over kill since the rear emblem simulates a fuel cap and would conflict with a chrome or polished aluminum fuel door. It would look as if the car has two of them.

I thought though that the 05 concept DID have a rear fuel door/cap but was changed for the production model to go with the regulations mentioned above.

I agree with you guys. The bullitt fuel door looks goot on say, the 2002 Bullitt Mustang, but just wouldn't work on the '05. Have we talked you out of it yet, allen? :nono:

I'm in agreement with most of the people above. You basically already have a cool fake fuel filler. Anything more on the side (even if it were possible since there is a curve), would only detract from the design.

I mod cars and pretty much everything in unnormal ways(pretty succesful too). I may do a mod on the mustang with a custom filler neck, routing it to the current location of the gastank, and actually fill up at the rear.
