Your car has a black box,see if the dealer can pull up the info for that date and time. If so take it to court and use it as evidence. Tough to be acused of 75 if the cars computer says 59. BUT any judge worth his salt will still pinch you because you are now confessing to going 59 in a 55. Moral of the story get a good radar detector and if it`s a trap prone area do the freakin speed limit.

Just a little help from a doughnut eater.

My understanding is that the black box is an EDR (Event Data Recorder), and stores info for a limited time for purposes like an airbag deployment or catastrophic mechanical failure.
I could be wrong, but either way, enjoy the Krispy Kremes. Acutally, have some popcorn.

The only lesson I learned was county cops are ********(they should stick to breaking up meth labs and redneck fights and leave radar to the real cops)-and I hope the person who I got dinged for crashes into a ditch.

Careful with that strategy. I've seen that used MANY times with the Judge saying, "I've seen those radar guns used in action and they are VERY accurate." Assume the judge will take the side of the police officer namely because they ARE working together to raise revenue for the municipality/state.

That's my understanding. It records the last 5 seconds of data before airbag deployment.

They sell data recorders that plug into the OBD-II port and can record maybe a few hours of data. You'd have to take that data back home each night and upload it. However, I am not sure it would be admissible as evidence or hold up in traffic court. The cop is using a "certified" speedometer (if he paced you) or a calibrated radar/lidar unit and those will hold up better in court, unfortunately

I got pulled over in Granby Colorado several years ago.... for 38mph in a 35mph zone. I **** you not!

The guy pulled me over and said that he would warn the other people because he knew them and they were from in town (3 other cars) in front of me. I had a Pennsylvania license plate on at the time.

Asked for my license and registration, told me he clocked me doing 38mph and that he'd be right back. He came back and proceded to talk to me about my Chevelle I was driving... and that he was building one wiht his son.

20 minutes later I was out of there with a warning to "slow it down".

go figure.

You are screwed

I doubt that you will win in court. If the cop does not show then they will reschedule the court date. I think they can do that at least 3-4 times. So, this guy will miss every one til the last then show up at which point you will lose. After 3 to 4 trips to court this will add insult to injury. Plead to a lesser speed and take traffic court.

Then when no one is looking crank the Stang up to 75 for an extended run everyone is even.

It was making me physically ill and unable to sleep(seriously). So I paid it online way back in August and developed a seriously healthy hate for our county cops.

You should'a taken your other 3 passengers to court w/you, or at least one of them and pleaded your case. Even arguing it by yourself should have netted you a lower amount. Oh well, it's your $$$.

I have taken 2 speeding tickets to court at different times. Both times the judge offered everyone the chioce to plead guilty, pay twice the fine and no points. My only response was who do I make the check out to?
