To elaborate on that, you have to pull it all the way back to keep the brights on, otherwise you will just flash the brights.

 

The fogs point at the road directly in front of you(as they should to light up the road lines in foggy weather and not light up the fog like high beams would) and they shouldn't shine onto oncoming cars. I've turned them on w/o the headlights on and they only illuminate about 10-20 feet in front of the car. Not even enough to drive with at night.

I agree with other posters that they're flashing because they see 4 lights, not because they're being blinded.

 

The high beams on my GT are turned on by pulling the turn signal lever towards you. You can flash the high beams by pulling it part way or click them on by pulling until you hear it click. My fogs are turned on by pulling the headlight switch out.

I know it is illegal to run with high beams and fog lights in Virginia, and I believe it is in a lot of other states too.

 

i always drive with my fogs on too cuz they make it brighter....and the highs r really bright i did notice that too

 

If your serious about your lighting check out my sig for my fog lamp conversion. Makes a big difference having a four lamp system. No flashing with lows & low fogs on.

 

Interesting...My 2004 F150 uses the same 9008 Headlamp, and one of the complaints in the F150 forums is the light isn't bright enough. The complaint is about the regular driving light--not the high beam, however.

A call to Sylvania about getting Silverstars for the 9008 H13 bulb resulted in them telling me that Silverstars would probably not be made for the 9008 bulb due to federal restrictions. I hope this changes.

As for the 9145 Foglamp, I replaced them with Silverstar 9005 STs (same type socket), and the fog lamps REALLY light up the road now. I like using them on backroads because of the lens dispersion pattern (they are much lower to the ground on the F150, being in the bumper as opposed to being in the grill of the GT) of the fog lamps light up the sides of the roads much better than the normal headlights. This is a real benefit when you are on the lookout for deer jumping out of the woods.

The fogs on the F150 have never been mistaken for high beams, but I can see how folks might think they are highbeams on the Mustang GT. Change those 9145s out with 9005 ST Silverstars, and you'll really get noticed.

 

I live out in the boonies and use my high beams constantly. They are definitely VERY bright!

I noticed the low beams are horrible. My Crown Vic's upgraded wiring/relay kit + GE Nighthawk 9007s are as white/bright as the Mustang's stock high beams. I can't see jack schitt with the stock Stang low beams primarily because they weren't aimed properly at the factory (aimed at the ground practically) and because the light is rather dim and yellow (low voltage problem).

 

If you think they're good now-try a pair of Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. You won't believe the difference.

too bad they don't last long... i'd rather keep the stockers than change out the lights every few months for $40.

i tried them in my last car and it wasn't really brighter anyway, just whiter.

 

You can install this remote activated wiring on Fog/Driving lights and run them with highbeams at same time. Also can turn them on when car is not running, handy on dark street or parking lot.

Easy install, has 9006 female ends on wires to lights so depending on what you have for lights will need an adapter, also on suvlight website, I used 9006 male to 9005 female to plug in my HID fog/driving light conversion bulbs.

 

All you have to do is switch the terminals in the headlight connectors.
The only problem is that the high beam indicator on the dash becomes a low beam indicator.
