Yep, braided lines should work to stiffen the pedal. I'll be putting 'em on my Pony after winter.

Hey there,

Braided brake lines will help a great deal. Look at spending around $200 for a good set.

I did the lines and they really do not help much. The only way around it is with a brake kit.

Spongy brake pedal probably means air in the lines somehow. Either it
1) came that way from the factory for some reason,
2) you got air in the lines when you messed with them some time,
3) you boiled some fluid doing some major braking action.

I did bleed them a few months back and did see some air bubbles which gave me some improvement but it still needs major improvement compared to some other cars I`ve driven lately. I was told that a vacum bleed is the only way to properly do them and I did the old fashion way, me on the wrench and somebody on the pedal. Maybe I should go to my dealer and get them to check it as a warranty item.

I was hoping somebody had the scoop on this already

Different lines won't help if you have air in them.

Try bleeding according to the service manual:

Trust you bleed them in the correct sequence?
