Brake Fluid Reservoir Cozy

After over a year of wiping off my brake fluid reservoir to keep it from dripping onto the paint, I finally thought of a cheap and tasteful way to keep the damaging fluid off the paint. It's a cheap (89 cent) black head band.

Nice idea. Have you tried the other tricks?? I drained off some of the fluid to get it farther down in the resevoir, and so far haven't seen any new fluid on the outside.

Plummers tape around the neck of the resevoir worked for me....really cheap!

The headband is a good idea..

I have kept a close eye on mine over the 2 months I've had it, and other than about the first 10 days when I had a bit of leakage from the top cap, it's stayed dry. My fluid level is just slightly below the "Full" line. That seems to be one of the answers.

the only thing i would be concerned with is how hot it gets near that reservoir..

by the way, does this seem to be affecting the '07s? I haven't seen anything on mine yet, but i keep checking..

Yep, keep checking, because my 07 started leaking very slightly. I put a rubber washer under the stock rubber washer, and that seems to have done the trick.

Cute. I think red would look better.

Brake fluid will eat the tape. Put some tape in some fluid and wait and see.

This is what I did, be careful not to use too thick a washer so the cap closes properly.
