Well, we have been building this drag radial 05 Mustang to compete in the NMRA class and it has been a never ending battle trying to get it finished. We finally got it together at the last minute before The World Street Nationals in Orlando. This was the first time the car has even seen the drag strip. We managed to run a 8.65@168 mph but lost the converter on the pass and was not able to make another run. Regardless, we were extremely happy with the pass but there are a lot of bugs to work out still. Can't wait to get it back to the track. Here is a link to the build up of the car for those interested.

Very cool! You know what would be even cooler? If someone added to the write up newb explanations of everything...you know, so a newb like me can learn more about drag racing.

"We knew that we wanted to use the longest spring possible..." Why?

"We also chose to use Strange 40 spline gun drilled axles. A typical hardening process can only temper the metal to a depth of around 1/4". When you gun drill an axle, it allows the axle to be tempered on the inside and outside which makes it stronger even though there is less material. A gun drilled 40 spline axle is actually lighter than a 35 spline solid axle. In this comparison, you can see the size difference between an OE axle and the 40 spline axle from Strange." Cool! See, that I understand...

I wish I could have taken video of that car screaming down the track! I was there Friday. Awesome times right off the trailer first time! That has to be one sick ride down the track!

As of now we are not yet a Mustang Source sponsor but we will be soon and then we can talk about specials.

Awesome products btw. I get to test the relocation brackets tomorrow night for any improvement.

I was hoping to read an update on that car, been browsing through that build up forever. Good s.h.i.t!

Thanks for posting! Very interesting to see what you have done with the new car. I got to see a couple of '05 race cars at the Bristol FFW and think they make great looking racers. Best of luck with the project and hope to see you at the Atlanta race next year.

Wow! What an insane car. Very cool. I can't even fathom running an 8.xx. My Chevelle should be good for high 10's, but 2 seconds faster is worlds different.

BMR, I sent you an e-mail about a panhard, but I'm not sure if you'll be receiving it until Monday. If you could get back to me over the weekend, that would be great. Time's a bit of an issue thanks to an impending SEMA deadline! (Sorry to go off-topic...)
