My salesman called me up first thing this morning to tell me some great news (which I already knew from the VOPC line), but was great to hear nonetheless. My order was pulled on Thursday and I have a VIN now. So I'm in good shape now and maybe will actually have the car by April.
However, he told me that I ordered at the right time, because the Ford regional guy told my dealership to refund the deposits for their pending orders, and advised them to try and get the customers to buy cars from dealer stock, or consider ordering '06 models! The details are sketchy:
1. This might only be for the Boston region - he didn't say if it was nationwide.
2. I don't know if this was advice, i.e. that the dealers *should* refund the deposits, or if it was an order, i.e. the dealers *must* refund the deposits.
3. I don't know if this applies to all orders that haven't been pulled yet, or only newer orders. (it doesn't seem fair if someone ordered last year that their deposit would be refunded now after waiting all this time...)
Maybe Karpro or someone else in the know can elaborate more on this.
I am REALLY excited about getting my order pulled, but at the same time I feel pretty bad for those who have ordered and will now be told to buy off the lot or wait for '06. Hopefully this isn't true nationwide, but I believe that it is true at least for my dealership.

Hope not, since I placed my order and deposit this morning and was told it would be 10-12 weeks to get it.

I just emailed my dealer and asked him for a refund if it's still c/u as I'll just wait until May to order the 06 plus I just lost my job so it's not the best time to have a new car payment.

Bill, what dealership in connecticut was it? I found the car I was looking for at a Ct. dealer who also told me the same thing about ford starting to give refunds.

As far as cars on other lots, most dealers in my area have no GTs.
The salesman told me that Valenti Ford in Mystic has 11 orders that are going to be refunded, but I think he got that from hearsay.
What dealer did you get your car from Horse?

Oh noooo... I hope not, I ordered mine 4 weeks ago from dealer in Raynham MA which is not farm from CT. I called to get my DORA today and I'm still clean unscheduled, priority 12. He didn't say anything about my deposit. Thing is, there is a dealer closer to me that has what I ordered but it has 1500 miles on it. I'm actually on the way to see it now but would rather have the new one. :bang:

Yeah, I've been speaking to the guys at Saybrook. I ordered essentially the same car sans side air bags and the shaker 1000 back in the beginning of December and I am still c/u. My order was placed at a NY dealer. That GT on the lot is pretty tempting but $3000 over msrp is ridiculous. It would be nice if ford could get their stuff together and start building these cars in a more effecient matter.
